I just hope I don't have to upgrade computers anytime soon, I really like the XP. It seems like everytime they get to the point to where the OS doesn't bog down your puter, then they come out with a new OS. Why not just keep the OS and do the upgrades instead of bringing out a whole different one?

It is true that hardware is a big issue with Vista. You MUST have a fast machine to run Vista efficiently.
One of the biggest things that I hate about Vista are the number of different versions. Take Vista Home Basic as an example. They sell this as an upgrade to XP Home, but the features of Vista Basic are not even as good as what you get with XP Home. Vista Basic is no upgrade!
That is where Apple has done something right... When you buy Mac OS, you get your choice of one version, it's fully featured and half the cost of Windows Vista Ultimate (which has similar features). To make things even better; they offer a family license that allows you (I believe) up to five machines for about the cost of two.
Microsoft needs to take lessons!
