Some pachinkos do have active buttons, The Bow wow has a single act button plus the std 2 parlor ones, the Magic Lamp girl has red and a blue choice buttons the effect reach and fever rounds. If you fail to press the button you could lose the fever chance. I honestly still don't have the buttons fully figured out yet I just mash the button when the button icon appears on the screen.

That's OK, most of the chance buttons are just smoke and mirrors anyway; they are, many times, just something the manufacturer uses to make the player feel more in control of winning.
