Default Shipping and You the reciever

The biggist happing is getting your new machine.
Does not matter token or ball, the waiting to see what shape it is coming in.

So this thread is about Shipping woes and pictures please.
We need to get this information to the vendors as to what they are doing right and sadly wrong in their packing.

How many times have we heard will it got here in good shape, BUT the ash tray was broken off or joy stick was broken or the glass is broken or the reel cage came loose on the inside.

With this information, vendors can come back on the shipper to clean up their act.

It is getting bull$hit that the weight of shipping is more than 1/2 the packing and box, not the machine.

Excellent thread arby, I will be sure to have my camera ready next time UPS or FedEx shows up for a delivery. Because there will plenty more disasters to capture. They will never stop destroying peoples property.

We (AAA Pachislo) are getting ready to completely redo our shipping methods. I have spent a lot of time with box companies, fedex, and mostly customers to hear what works and what doesnt work. Our new method will cost us in material almost as much as the actual shipping charges. We will have a thicker box, and custom made foam inserts that are made from the spray foam material. It has been FEDEX and UPS approved. It has caused us to raise our shipping prices from $74.99 to $79 but I think once customers get this packaging they will be very happy. Only time will tell on how well the new stuff works, I think no matter what there will always be a broken package here or there thanks to the shipping companies. We are supposed to have everything in the warehouse next Monday. I have seen a sample that the box company we use made up and I must say, its pretty darn good. Obviously from other posts the way we were packing wasnt the most ideal but thanks to everyone we have learned a lot and the improvement will be HUGE!

I guess I have been lucky thus far, I had only one bad shipment come in pretty beat up and that was from SlotsUSA. My other shipments from Milt and Arby have all arrived safely. Now Arby is the only one I get shipments from, we drive up to Milts and pick up orders (usually 6-8 machines) personally now.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Here are some pics of the box I got today.

Super thin, almost no padding, amazing that it made it without damage!

Lucky it arrived un-damaged as you say given the condition of the box. Thank your lucky stars.

That's not a bad idea at all...

Okay everyone from now on, use crappy boxes and be sure and get them wet first.

The package handlers will take extra care of these and they will arrive on time. If you overpack and use pristine boxes the package handlers will think (if that's possible) they are strudy enough to stand up to delivery olympics and beat the snot out of them.

Just so everyone knows, we finally got our new packing materials on Monday. It looks very very good. We put a picture of it in all of our auctions. The boxes seem much more secure when they leave the warehouse. I would like to thank everyone for all of their tips and feedback and hopefully this will be much better for all of our buyers.

I must say that PachisloShop has excellent packaging!

The box was pretty sturdy, and had cardboard "endcaps" inside with plasticky-foam inserts glued in to keep the machine from moving an inch.

I especially liked the "Delicate Instruments - DON'T DROP" stickers on the sides!
