King Camel just arrived!

Just got my King Camel what a really nice machine the photos dont do it justice. I think anyone that is into this hobby should have one. Does any King Camel owner know at what point the game counter comes on? I havent seen it working yet but I havent hit all of the big Bonus games. I have been giving it the initial test to make sure that all is working properly.

The game counter does not work on the KC. Not sure why Sammy decided it didn't need to work though? Seems like a waste since they use that on so many of their other games.

Are your ears bleeding yet ? or did it come with a vol control fitted ?

Ive been waiting to play mine all week, and just modded the speakers last night after the parts came in the post......should be giving it some serious play time tonight....

Volume control on the bottom is a must. The top two are OK on there own. I have volume controls on the top two, but I keep them all the way up anyway. Enjoy !!!

My King Camel came with the volume controls installed. Very clean installation I might add. Its just a little too low for me so I will turn it up!!!!!!

Congratulations! You are really going to enjoy King Camel. Had ours nine months now, and still not bored with it. Glad it came with the volume control. I put a volume control on the bottom speaker, and just stuffed cotton balls in the top speakers. Still plenty loud enough, just not deafening anymore.

put a 47 ohm in line on the bottom speaker, and 1K in line wirewounds on the upper speakers..... volume is just perfect now

King camel is an excellent choice, you wont get tired of playing this machine. It continues to be a fan favorite in my house. If you need any help with set up or switches your unsure about let me know.

I think I figured it out...the answer to the burning question of "Why does the King Camel have a game counter but doesnt use it?".

In all of the Sammy games I have owned the game counter on the front is also used when setting the odds. When you turn the key and power on the machine the odds setting in game counter looks like this -#-. When you press down the joystick it changes to the # without the dashes. they probably had microcode that was tried and true and didnt want to move it to an alternate 7 segment display...not to mention the engineering/manufacturing costs they would have to endure to remove the display. The current design allows them to just replace the glass and use the current design for any machine.

then why not cover the display with the new glass ????? i think the intent was to use it , then a last minute change was made rendering it sterile .but the glass graphics were already made or being made and leaving a hole wasn't an option ......

I still say because it's an AT machine, and unlike an A machine with 3 sets of 8, there is no way to keep count on a varied bonus that may payout a lot more than that...or even less.

I also know that for me that it meant that I had to do a reset becuase the machine would not let me do anything and I still have no idea why it came on.
