How does my machine know when to a lose

I was thinking about how a machine knows what odds it is paying out. I've recently logged hours and hours on my Star Wars without a fever mode and was thinking what I could do to make it think that it was time to give me a break and match the three symbols. If I opened the glass and tipped a few thousand balls through the lose hole at the bottom would it count these up and feel sorry for me - or does it not count the balls dropped through here?

How does a machine count up the number of balls played to payed ratio? Do the balls have to be shot from the shooter to count - because if so then what happens when I shoot the shooter with no balls present - are these counted up?

Any more info on this appreciated.

the spent ball hole does not count any of the balls. It runs the odds on the center start pocket and the top start pocket

I went ages on a dry spell, but when it went, it went big time. I think it was in constant Fever mode for about 2 weeks!!!

I know the horse smilie had nothing to do with my comment, but I just noticed it on there and couldn't resist. Slap that horse Smilie!

Sorry about the typo on the thread heading - it should read ...How does my machine know that I'm a loser. If anyone can change this I would appreciate it.

I was wondering if my credit mod would also affect the payout ratio. The mod is wired to payout 10 balls on request by using the trigger from one of the pockets. If I were to always get my play-balls by first paying them out to myself I'm guessing that the machine would think that it was paying out plenty and be a bit stingy on paying out any more. Thats why I still reach into the machine for most of my balls - do you think I need to keep doing this?
