    Default How geekie is this?

I'm sitting at the Flying J in Dallas waiting to pickup in Ft Worth on Monday. It's a wireless internet stop so I figured I'll surf for a while. Well, my laptop only has the pcmcia wireless card with it's little intenal antenna, so not a very good signal here. But my truck computer (mini itx system I built into the truck w/10.4" screen at sunvisor height, mostly for GPS) has a wireless card with an external antenna and gets better signal. So here I sit in my truck with my laptop ethered to my truck computer wirelessly connected to the web! A Freightliner with it's own computer network!

    Geek level 1 - 10..

    id say a 9...
if you had a USB foot warmer or coffee cup warmer you would have gotten a full 10..

It does have computer controlled XM Radio!
Between that, the GPS unit, mouse and usb keyboard, I'm stressing the usb to it's limit right now. Need a powered hub for the foot warmer!.

I'll consider it 'tricked' when I build the cabinet for one of my pachislo's to go on the road with me. Just enough room behind the passengers seat. Freightliner Casino, coming to a town near you!

Yep but I would do it if I was on the road. I love my Sprint aircard gets hi-speed in the major city's & access anywhere you get a sprint signal which has been most anywhere i have gone

A cellular card is next on my list of computer things.I know it'll work on the laptop but I'd need to get another MB in my truckputer to use it there though.

    9 out of 10
If you had dual firewalls and redundant network connections I'd give you a 10
