    Default Calling Arby,Star Wars Help!

I sold my Star Wars machine to my cousin and my replacement came today. The game works 99% however the shooter is touchy. It does not always want to shoot. When it gets going it will run until the balls run out but if you want to take your time with shots it won't always shoot without a lot of twisting of the ball. Out of all the machines I have had I have never had a problem with the shooter. What kind of nightmare am I looking at if I take it apart? I'm thinking something must be dirty, not making a good contact? Any advice? I knew a problem like this would come around sooner or later.

Sounds like a jambed shooter: under the shooter is one screw to remove shooter, unplug one connector of three wires (black, white and gray). Now the shooter can be removed, but tie a string to the wires before you pull thru, than cut string and leave there till you want to put back together.

Take apart the three screws and check for a load, should not be more than the light spring. watch and hold spring, so you are not looking for spring (spring where are you ?). Check the white tefla spacer for being crushed. If the shooter works fine out of machine it is the board and motor assy behind. If it is that, I replace it, not being a electric wizard.

Note the gray wire if you tap in to it and ground to the frame, the shooters ring is disconnected and you can finger shoot.

    hope helps
