Default Anyone have experience with Yamato Revolution by Bitsy/Daido?

Wondering if anyone has had any hands-on experience with Bitsy/Daido's Yamato Evolution. Milt is listing it as Oyamato and he's selling it this week for $99. Looks interesting:

Unfortunately, it seems to have lost the cool lights that were on Giga Fever and Don Don King. The video scenes look like they have several levels, although it's hard for me to tell from the Google translations how the game play is.

I seem to recall a thread here that at the time of publication stated that this was one of the most popular pachislos in Japan. The only problem I can see with it is the Japanese writing on front. I find that it's harder to resell a machine later if the Japanese is the first thing someone sees. I had a Slotter Kintero and found it to be a very fun machine to play. It had multi-level scene's (like fire drift) but people didn't like it based on the fact that it was splattered with Japanese on the belly glass.

Alternately, Yamato (or Star Blazers) is more well known as an anime/manga than Kintaro in the US so you might be able to find buyers into the nostalgia thing. In any case, I don't think you guys have much of a risk in buying and selling those types of machines because both anime and manga are making a huge impact in entertainment and it will only continue.

Were you possibly able to tell from the message board links if this machine is considered to be a good playing one or not? (I'm not asking for any formal translation; just a sense, if you feel like it/are able to get one, of how the players in Japan view this machine. TIA)

Wow, a star blazers themed Pachislo. I might need to pick that up. I have never seen that one before.

I've never played it nor do I remember that machine being partilcularly popular (though I'm sure it cracked the top ten in the charts). From the documentation and vids I've seen of it, it looks to be an OK, if not particularly spectacular machine.

Well, I guess it's impossible to live with Paula and not absorb some of this stuff thru osmosis.

I really hate you guys for this.

Not only did I buy that machine. But I had to buy all three. I have no where to put any more. My wife is going to kill me.

So you went for The Monkey & The Crab, Yamato Evolution, & T-Birds, huh? Kewl! I wasn't sure about The Monkey & The Crab. And I already have a couple of T-birds. I guess you won't have it before Milt switches to another trio next week. I think it's a shame they dropped those awesome side lights (on the Evolution) like on DDK and GF, and since both of those were non-video machines, it's kind of a crapshoot as far as how this one will play. But it sounds like you are into the Star Blazers theme, so you should enjoy it. From what Rupan said, it was a middle of the road machine. But who knows; it does look like it has a lot of different video scenes from what I saw on the museum link; it just depends on how well integrated they are into the game play. Keep us posted, Dalto. I have a feeling we're gonna give it a shot too; then we can compare notes.

Eh, I think it might be worth it for you Dalto, just because it has the original Yamato theme song.
