Default The Professor (Samurai School by Sammy)

As noted in another thread - I bought a modern pachinko called "The Professor." I didn't post photos right after I bought it, so I'm posting them now.

It's a pretty cool machine, but it's really loud. I'll be installing volume controls soon. As a side note, does anyone know where the ball release is on this Sammy?

Also - this is the machine that has nicotine stains I'd like to remove if possible (in pictures as well with orange circles)

    Enjoy

about the ball release, do you mean to empty the payout, if so, then base on my Freddy vs Jason (same frame as your), look at the back of the machine, top right corner, going down, follow the vertical edge of the wooden frame, the first white part that you encounter, white lever, push it down. It's located just below the top/right board with all the little connectors.

If you look at the front of the machine, top left, there's the grid (chrome part) for the left speaker, check just below it, still on the chromed part, there's a hole alone there, you can also use a pin nail or paper clip and push inside the hole, you will see that it push the white lever I was talking before.

If you mean emptying the front tray, then the button to push is the clear plastic (triangle shape) with a red triangle on it, just below the logo "Sammy", push it.

for the nicotine spot, you could use Novu, or a fine sand paper like #1000 or 1200. It will look better if it's white no longer shiny, than brown or with burn marks

    Cool machine.
With a little patience, I've completely renewed unbelievably awful plastic, including that with cigarette burns, to like-new condition.
I always start with a Mister Clean Magic Eraser. If it's beyond that, pick up a small but complete buffing kit for your drill. Ryobi makes a nice little kit for about $10, available at Home Depot. It comes with black (emory), red, and white rouges as well as 3 sizes of buffing wheels. Don't let the black near plastic! Start with red and go lightly/slowly to really "grind" out burns and pits, etc. Be careful. I've burned/melted plastic by getting impatient (which can also be fixed, but no fun). I recommend the smallest wheel for this step as it effectively is going slower. Finish up with the white rouge and it will gleam like new. It may not look like it as you work with all the buffing compound and filth, but when you wipe it off with a cloth you'll say, "ahhhhhhhhh, pretty"
Good luck... now get to it.

Your machine is Sammy's 2006 machine, CR魁!!男塾, or CR Sakigake Otokojuku.

I'm not sure of the exact translation, but this movie link below translates it as 'Be a Man! - Samurai School'. It's based on a Japanese fighting/battle manga of the same name : You Tube manga

    Should be fairly intense!

Sorry, I thought it was the same frame as Freddy vs Jason, but after a closer look, it's not but look a like a lot similar. Maybe you can check on the back as I said and maybe they used the same ball release white lever.

can you post video? I had been interested in this machine last year, as it has been posted on ebay for awhile, but I never convinced myself that I liked it, without seeing and hearing some play time.

I shall officially dub the machine "Samurai School" then instead of "The Professor".

I'll try to post video soon, but being a teacher at the end of a grading period at the current moment means no life until grades are done.

that's kind of ironic... the professor for the teacher?

Came across these in my camera today and realized I'd never posted them to this thread.

Better late than never I suppose.
