Just got the machine home. I did not have a chance to really look it over.

Will take pics tonight as I start to work on it but for now

The machine came off of its stand with four wing bolts which made it easy for transport.

The owner covered the case with Black contact paper which has started to come off in some places.

I will re-cover the machine tonight with a better material.

If the control panel still has the original Marble type finish and it is in good condition I will leave that exposed as it is sort of a signature on these machines and it looks really good. I really cant wait to see its condition.

The Cell is really clean only the pins need polishing.

There are 2 vertical cracks on the ball channel window but they are not separate so they are not really noticeable.

The machine powered up and the displays seemed to work at the guys house I did not get a chance to play it.

Anyway that is it for now Pics and more info later on.

I still cant believe only $100 I need to pinch myself or better yet kick myself!

Ok here is the first low down

On the 21st I worked on the machine until 2 am

Yesterday I started work on it at 5 am until 10 pm

Did I take photos of the work in progress No and why?

Because It was in so many pieces I didnt have room to take any pics

I did take a few after I started to take off the black covering to expose the faux marble.

The faux marble was almost flawless save a few dots on the control panel top which can be restored with stain.

I recovered the side panels of the machine and pedestal so they both had to come apart.

The machine basically worked save a few issues that took a long time to correct

the ball shooter lane was held together with ugly tape because the screw ears had broken off the cover. The solution was to simply drill a hole through it and screw the cover to the inner most plastic wall half. Its clean and very tight. I will take a photo for better clarification as words are hard to make the correct description.

The other main trouble was balls flying into the machine case from the ball return channel into the shooter from within the machine. I had to fabricate a temporary metal wall held on with double sided tape and drill 3 holes for errant balls that are caught by the wall to drain back into the main return trough. I will replace the metal wall with a Plexi wall then it will look stock.

The Marquee had been damaged and repaired at some point on the bottom and the repair was done really poorly with cardboard glued on as a patch with epoxy.

This was done internally and its not really noticeable the only sad part is that there is a clear section between the green where the light shines down on the cell. Only the clear section is blurry from where epoxy had been accidently smeared on part of it. It almost looks like dust that hasn't been cleaned off.

The fluorescent light fixture had some really dangerous hack connections where all of the twisted together wires were all exposed without any covering?

How it never shorted or caught fire over the years is amazing the wires were only 1/2 inch away from each other and the main cord was not anchored down to anything it just flopped around with its wire connections exposed!

I did replace the center jackpot bulb with an LED that is rated at a much lower voltage (6v) but seeing that it is on for only brief moments it should last. I chose it because it is very bright and makes a huge difference.

The the upper left light appears to be an on and jackpot light (Gets brighter on a jackpot)

It has 2 filiments and one is burned out.

I would like to replace the bulb with an led but that would be difficult seeing that it would require an LED that could work on both voltages and still be bright enough or brighter than the original bulb.

Anyway cleanup was standard fair all plastics cleaned, coin mech, harness etc

The nails were polished and all that remains is to move it to the arcade and then I will do the final cell cleaning with the Pica cleaner.

Remember for those with a Cell Pica cleaner DO NOT USE YOUR CLEANER after polishing the nails with BRASSO until you clean the entire face by hand with clean cloths and Qtips
with windex. Once it is cleaned from the nail polishing residue then you can use your pica Cleaner otherwise you will stain your brushes and coat them with the metal and Brasso residue. IF your going to go through all of the trouble to clean and polish your cell do it right and dont ruin your good tools.

The machine is now playing perfectly only the bell sound is really low almost non- existent . Its a really small bell Im guessing 1 1/2" dia and it is too close to the falling balls ( a ball width) to make a loud sound. In other words it stinks as most of the time a sound is not even heard. I am going to come up with an electric bell to give the machine a sound it deserves.

There is a really odd feature that I cant figure what they were thinking.

In order to move the balls through the machine from the cell face into the holding area they have a solenoid hooked up to a bent wire that is connected to the holding tray.
This crazy solenoid is on all the time to (get this, VIBRATE the tray (Just like in the old electric football games) THe vibration is meant to help move the balls along because the tray is not angled!!! Duh! Does it work NO is it noisy and does it sound like the machine is about to explode YES!

The solution disconnect the offending solenoid ( Molex connectors) and angle the machine back a little with the leg levelers. No more sound and balls travel like they are supposed too! I could see it if the solenoid TILTED the tray once in a while but that would make too much sense. Wait until you see the pics of this crazy idea.

Will try to post pics later tonight.

Humm , the 2 Satomi's that i have /Had I still have one and the bell during pay out is bright sounding maybe it is loose ? I learned the hard way back in 1976 to not use Any liquid cleaner while the nail braids are still on the machine . I use the Miracle cloth

Miracle Polishing And Cleaning Cloth . The original Miracle Cloth which has proven to out clean and polish any other product.
to polish the brass and chrome and use can cut it into shoelace strips to polish the nails over .

I will wait patiently for the unveil

This is a little off topic, but I just bought several electric football games by Tudor on e-bay last week. Your mentioning the vibrating metal playing field caught my attention. I low balled several buy it now sellers and ended up winning 5 games. 3 have already arrived. Lots of parts missing on all games. Hopefully I will be able to make up 2 or 3 complete games. I played this game in the mid 50's.
