I voted auto stop, but really it depends on the machine. Outlaw, Azteca, etc for example probably wouldn't work well with an autostop in bonus rounds since you are required to select a specifc reel.

I dont' know much about autostops so I could be way off there!

    I would like one anyways!

I am traditionalist. Leave them stock. They are more fun and interactive that way. If I wanted to spin/watch, spin/watch, I'd buy an American manufactured slot. Even if it's only a perception that I can land on a certain sequence, that perception is so much more enjoyable than just watching them randomly stop!

One thing to keep in mind is that most of the people on this forum are Pachislo fanatics. We have no life outside of here.

"Normal" people may have different opinions...

On most of the newer machines not only do you need to be able to stop the reels in the correct order during bonus rounds, but there are times during play when you actually have a great deal of control over where the reel stops. You'll never be able to get close to the max payouts with auto stop.

Auto stop is like riding a bike with training wheels. It may make it easier, but they keep you from leaning into (and thus going fast through) the turns.

So... I can see where there is a need for the skill stop because the games are so much more interactive, or at least getting that way. I can kinda see my machine as the (pardon the term) ******* stepchild of the bunch that isn't a true american slot but no longer meets the standard description of a Pachislo machine. So is there still a market for this type of mod or is it just a curiosity?

Yes but primarily with the new buyers of Pachislos- which there are lots of out there!
It will be a selling point for you on your auction.

After putting down auto stops in my last post, I should point out that I did just install one tonight on a Zett-30.

But, that particular Zett is not going to be a "playing" machine. It's being modified as part of an "art" project. It was selected specifically because it didn't have very complicated play. So, the auto stop serves its purpose of making it even simpler to play.

BTW, I used the pachislo.com interface board auto stop. (Not their new one that turns on or off with a push of two buttons, but the one they were selling a few weeks ago where you have to move the jumper to turn it on or off.) It seem to work fine.

On a related issue, does anyone know of a way to do a hopper dump on a Zett, (or other similar Net machine)? A lot of pachislos have a button on the power supply that will dump coins from the hopper. Can't find a similar switch on the Zett.

I contacted Pachislo.com on there auto stop. Put my question and there answer in a post here. I asked if credit funtion of chip would work if only wanted that part of it . They said yes. Then I asked if you could turn off auto stop to play the bonus rounds. They said that first round would get mestup turning it off but sounds like the rest of rounds you could play with it off. I also brought up that newer chips will have to take into consideration the bonus rounds and in some machines in normal play sometimes as well. You need to be Abel to shut off auto stop without hitting stop buttons. I would like one for credit on all my machines and the occasional time I want to use auto stop. Laz.

I think you're talking about the one from pachisloUSA.com. I don't think the one for pachislo.com does a credit function.

I recently wrote Rob at Pachislousa.com and offered a way to be able to shut the autostop chip off without hitting any of the reel buttons for those times you need to stop the reels in a certain order. He replied back that he will try to change the code to work this way. Not sure if it will work, but if it can be done he will figure it out.
With the Christmas rush it may be a while. Will let you know what the results are.

At the risk of moving back towards the thread title. Gaku's web-site (bigbear) and my experience since reading it have changed my mind on Auto-Stops. When I got my 1st machine, I was completely convinced that the skill-stop thing was BS and just some way to side-step some laws and such. Since practicing "eye-shooting" as Gaku calls it, I know now that I can have an influence on where the reels stop and quite possibly enough of an influence to dramatically change the amount that gets paid out for a given number of plays. Am I full of BS now? Does "eye-shooting" make a difference all of the time, or just in certain situations. I find that concentrating on the reels while playing makes me tired after a while. Do you guys try to "hit it" it all the time, or do you just plod along like an auto-stop would?
