Default Thinking about getting a pachinko!

I am thinking about getting a pachinko machine to go along with my pachislots.

I've been checking out Popeye, Sea Story, Woody Woodpecker, Pink Panther, Charlie Chaplin. I need to keep it interesting for us and our 4 year old so I am not sure which one... Any suggestions?

Also I am checking out that cabinet they are selling also on their site: http://www.slot-pachinko.com/2004PACHINKO.HTM (it's at the top of the screen). Any thoughts on this?

I could make a cabinet but I am not much a wood worker!! (I once made a bird house and it was condemned!!! ) I am more of a sparks and metal guy (plasma cutter and mig welding).

Any suggestions would be great because I really have no idea as far as the differences in the models, etc. I have never owned a pachinko machine.

    Thanks alot!

Well I have a few modern Pachinkos and I love them all for very different reasons........

Is there a particular Theme you are drawn too?

Have you checked out the Threads and Museum etc........

Although I'm sure whichever Pachinko you choose will be an amazing experience and will lead to many more purchases........

One tip if you're interested in pachinko with a 4 year old around who wants to play it. Make whatever you choose cyclic. A child won't be able to move balls around by themselves and believe me, you won't want to do this for them every time they want to play.

I am not partial to any theme (as you see with my pashislo's) as long as it is interesting and has some nice video to it.

I am more of the type that looks more than I play (I would rather watch someone else play it so I can see the graphics, etc.... more or less the mechanics and technology is what seems to draw me to all this stuff... I am a techy geek!)

I will check out the museum too, thanks for that suggestion!

I also emailed them and asked were the machines cyclic.

Thanks for the info/suggestions keep em coming!

Of the ones sold by slot-pachinko, I have Robocop and Saint Maria. Of those two, I like Saint Maria more. It has much more variety, left/right side play, bigger LCD, better light show.

Gotta agree here with TULSA that cyclic is the way to go for someone that young. I just had my 3 year old grandson over and he played a couple of my noncyclic pachinkos and it was a real hassle refilling for him as he couldn't handle it properly.
More than likely you will not find a pachinko that is cyclic unless its from arbycoffee or one that is a home made one. Most dealers just bring the pachinkos in and turn them over as fast as they can without converting them.

As far as theme....you are best served like hanabi says and doing some heavy research here and at the museum. My 3 year old grandson really liked the Marilyn pachinko the most believe it or not and that was because of all the little "fisheees"

Well since Slot-Pachinko is Texas auction, be prepared to get an email telling you the evils of cyclic machines. If memory serves me correctly, they were the ones knocking us about how cyclic machines do nothing but jam and never work correctly.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

LOL below is the email I got from slot-pachinko:

If you ever played a cyclic machine you would do anything to change it back. No balls ever appear except when they are on the Play Board. You never win anything. BORING!!

We do have cyclic machines but we quit selling them.

The only way we will sell one is for you to sign a disclaimer and send it to us before we ship the machine. We have never had a happy cyclic customer yet.

    Sincerely,
    Curt

Hahaha I take it this isn't a dealer of choice! I was just checking them out because they had alot of pretty pictures!!

I hate to start asking where to look so if anyone has any suggestions that they could PM me with I would appreciate it... I searched on here but it seems like most website only have a few or they are like $399 etc, this guys site seemed to have reasonable prices.

    HA HA HA HA
OH did predict that or what?

    Gottac,
I have 9 pachinko machines and 7 of them are cyclic. I just haven't had time to change over the other 2 yet.
Cyclic is not that hard to do. If you can visualize where the balls are going along the tracks and where they are coming from, then it is just a matter of making a few holes to allow balls to pass through walls and a little plexi and hot glue to cover ball drops. The secret is to make sure the ball path is as smooth as possible and gravity does the rest.

As to where to get a machine, there are good dealers on ebay. If you want the ultimate pachinko experience, Arby is the way to go. Getting a machine off a vendor's website will cost you more than that same one on ebay by the same vendor.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

aluminum wire in your mig and your in business!! cut patterns first from cardboard. do the welding on the inside then just sand the corners of the cabinet for clearance of the welds.heck a sheet of good formica is $40.00, enough plate to do the job is $54.00 at lowes

I will give him a PM shout and see what he's got... I am not looking to go too nutz on it till I know it is something I will like, etc. (Just kind of what I had described earlier in the thread... nice family LCD and interesting them... not looking to match my pachislo theme (as there is none!!!) I am partial to popeye though... I don't care much for Star wars.

    Thanks for the heads up.
