Thumbs up Veterans' Day in the US...

For those of you that have served our country, my most sincere gratitude for your service. Despite what a liberal media might portray, you are revered for your service, regardless of the campaign, by the majority of Americans. I appreciate the sacrifices you and your families have made to serve this country.

    Army here, drafted in 1963

2 years Pentagon duty working with a huge Univac conputer system worth about 8 million dollars.

your home computer can do more than it could now

I did keypunch, sorting, collating, translating programs to what the computer would accept and wiring boards for differnet support machines.

I had Top Secret clearance working in the Army war room support division

One of the cool things about my house is it came with a 25 foot flagpole with a light so I get to fly mine most of the time.

Heck lucky, I was only a year old in 63. My father was also in the Army at the time. He was stationed in Berlin durning those years.

I was in between Berlin and Vietnam.

Berlin was just getting hot when I got drafted, and near the end of my 2 years Vietnam was getting started.

Regular Army troops were extended 6 months, draftees just serverd their 2 years active and 4 years reserve.

I had a rough tour of duty

I lived in a duplex in Arlington Virginia with 2 other servicemen offpost

    parties every weekend

Why stray dogs love Veterans Day, the trash guys don't come and average joe forgets about it and puts his trash out at the street.
