My marriage is in jeopardy

Yesterday, the guy who checks the Sentricon traps at my house (for those who aren't familiar, Sentricon is a baiting system for termites) called me and left a message he smelled natural gas outside my home.

I called ONG, Oklahoma Natural Gas out and they confirmed I had a leak, $350 dollars later my leak was fixed and the now I await the gas company to come back to my home and turn the gas back on.

Now if they show, I'm a hero and life is good. If they don't show and my wife has to take cold showers over the weekend, my marriage is over. End of story, no second chances. I've been assured by the gas moguls that someone will be here to take care of my situation. So here I sit, drinking whiskey, waiting on them to sanctify the work my plumber did and reestablish their services to my home and heat my damn water!

I'm not sure at the time of this post, 7:44 CST if they'll make it and save my marriage or if my wife will scalp me upon her arrival later this evening!

Hmm, maybe I should make a bookie thread for this one.

A little after 8:00 PM I called to ONG again, WTF are you guys? Well I heard they went to my house, one street over, but would reschedule me.

yada, yada, yada...

They arrive, 9:00 PM. After much banter back and forth with the guy who's obviously bored with this job and just looking for any conversation he can get, we proceed with the task at hand. He checks everything, asks me some really stupid plumber questions that I have no clue how to answer, (Joe the Plumber, where are you?), and finally... I have a water heater that is heating my water again. to the ONG guy, he may have been a lonely fellow but he was able to accomplish the task and after a few crown and cokes, well I was more than fine with chatting with him about crap I knew nothing about.

My marriage is saved for yet another day, or until she reaches menopause!

Congratulations on becoming the hero, and entertaining a poor bored tech.
This week I was awakened by a mad, wet woman with large, piercing eyes, informing me she had no hot water and I should look into it TODAY if I get a chance.
Needless to say I made time and played Cinderella taking apart our heater and cleaning the soot and repairing it.
the heater has a safety on it that shuts it down if the air intake gets clogged, since it is between a lathe a disc sander it tends to get very dusty. I will need to move the tools out of the basement soon or I will be living in the garage. Or maybe get a more modern on demand heater that draws combustion air from the outside.

I had to pretend I knew what I was talking about earlier this week, when I was speaking to a plumber discussing plans for my new bedroom extension...(shhhhhhh!!gamesroom!!)

I am now very well versed in 'High Efficiency Boilers' and 'Drain Offs'
