I reckon you're getting your coins mixed up. We have the same sovereign, the Queens head may be on both but 20p (pence) is the odd shaped one, 20 C Aus I am sure is round. The small coins aren't too bad just be careful with your notes!

It all depends how old you are. Pre decimalisation is Pennies. Pence is what we have been getting used to the past 30 years or so. Neither is "wrong" I guess we will have problems when we have to change to Euro s.I presume 20c are the same size then?

birdbrain, hope you dont think I'm a coin collector or anything like but - What was the old 2 shilling coin has evolved into the 10 pence coin, this is 2.5mm (just under 1")
See - we still have a mix of imperial and metric measurements although the European Parliment have recently given permission for items to be sold in imperial measures oncemore (previuosly shop keepers have been prosecuted for selling groceries etc in imperial measurements) very good of them eh.
I have put 10p coins in pachislo and have never had a problem with them, only afew mind it would take a lot to fill a machine.

    Wikipedia quote:
Current Australian 5, 10 and 20 cent coins are identical in size to the former Australian, New Zealand and British sixpence, shilling and two shilling (florin) coins. In 1990 the U.K. replaced these coins with smaller versions, as did New Zealand in 2006 - at the same time discontinuing the 5 cent coin.
