Default Just got my first Pachinko

I just got a new Sophia (don't know which model) Pachinko machine today. Only problem is, I can't get it to work. Does anything look weird in the pictures at all. I know it needs cleaning, but I know cleaning most likely isn't the issue.DSC_0806.jpgDSC_0810.jpg

    Nice single shot nishijin.

    I don't see anything wrong.

the only issue I can think of is that your not using enough balls. you need to have at least 250 in the rear trays to make it work right. The other issue could be a hidden one like a piece of lint or something caught in the tracks.

If you have any questions just ask as there are no dumb ones.

Very nice! The last of the singleshots, a 1969 Nishijin. I have one myself waiting to be restored. I've not seen that playfield graphic before. Good find!

Thanks. I wasn't sure of the year of it when I bought it as I hadn't seen a playfield like this before when I was browsing.

attached are the pictures just rotated.

Now looking at them again. You are missing a piece on the chrome frame. (the whole left edge is gone.) However this doesn't affect play.

My problem is that I cannot even get a ball in the loading mechanism in the front. It's like the is something chrome blocking it. Do you think it's supposed to slide or pull out?

I'm not entirely sure what the issue is.

I mean i have a nishijin SS but i have no clue how to fix what you are talking about.

your best bet is to post a close up picture of what you think is the problem area.

Load the tray. It's a primitive version of a stop flag used on singleshots.

It's the ball entry area for the single shot. It seems like there is something there blocking a ball to be entered, but it's not another ball.

yes that looks like it is the low ball shut off. basically you need more balls in the upper tray on the back.

Is there a way to simulate the balls being there so I can see how to open it. The balls I have are not in a good enough condition to go into the machine... and I don't have 250. Really I just want to see if it works at all before I buy more balls

balls fall from the upper back tray to the lower back tray.. the mech that allowes the blockage to move is below the lower tray but befor the jackpot..

for a model "A" ya only need 50 or 70 to trip the door..

as the balls exit the lower tray they travel to the jackpot seesaw.. between the two (about center of the macine) iswhere the bypass should be.. the weight of the balls should open the door/blocker

There is a rod connecting the flag (blocking gate) to an actuator in the upper tray. Just pull up on the rod to pull the flag. It should move smoothly, if it is stuck the joints and axels will need to be cleaned.

Yeah, the flag was disconnected from the counter weight and that is what kept it from raising up. Thank you so much for the help ! ! !

    Carusse:

I made an animation of a model A machine and the thread is here:
    http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/vint...animation.html

Some of the mechanical aspects of your machine will be different than illustrated in the animation, some things may be very similar and some the same but I hope it helps explain a few things.
