    That's a really interesting question...

thinking back to what I class as 'old', probably the earliest one I have is a Don Chan 2 made by Aruze, I believe that dates to 2001,

but there must be others well before that date

I read somewhere that the first one was Cranky Condor. I think the first version was put out in 1995. But it seems to me that pachislos are older than that (80's?).

the oldest I've seen are the 1998 Popper King by IGT and the first Pink panther.

here's a list with a lot of older and newer models

I guess it would depend on if your defining Pachislo as a slot machine that has Skill stop buttons. If so, We can go back in time to the roaring 20's. To get around Prohibition laws, Manufacturers of slot machines (Mills, Pace...etc) began adding Reel stop buttons to some of there machines. This meant that the player was no longer putting his hard earned moola into a machine and relying on fate..ie "gambling" but rather had control over the results. Here is an example.

The Mints were also a way to get around the gambling laws.

Yes, I've seen a few sega slots like that...even think I saw a green one like the pachislo!!

Guess maybe it was easiest to have slots made into pachislos until they knew if people would play them rather than manufacturing them themselves??

    I have no clue
