Question Kyoraku - Resets every time?

    Hello friends:

I was wondering if you could help me...

I have a new Winter Sonata 2 machine (Stadium Frame) and i just love it.

However i was wondering if you could help me with a problem I'm having:

The problem is that every time i shut down the machine (even without unplugging the transformer) it seems the machine resets itself.

When i turn the machine back on - the alarm goes off for about 30 seconds...

so my question is does the machine really resets itself ?

(im asking since the alarm and also the feature on the machine itself which lists the reaches you arrived resets itself every new activation seems to indicate that it does)

Is there a way to prevent it?

Also if you could help me with other features in the cell or frame - like the different function of the buttons and knobs on the back - i would appreciate it.

Thank you very much and sorry for the trouble and rambling...

    Have a great day !!!

the 2 modern Kyoraku pachis I have do more or less the same thing. Okinawa also has the siren at startup every time, even if just turned off for 5 seconds so I think it is normal.

i'm not sure how it is on the stadium frames but on the big bang you can easily unplug the speakers for the time the alarm goes off. open the front so you have access to the cell, look by the bottom left where the door wires connect to the frame. there should be a few connectors but only one red one. this should be your main speakers. just unplug it, wait, plug back in and you're set.
This game induces a kind of hypnosis, a strange feeling of happiness. Winning is hardly important. But, time passes. You lose touch with yourself for a while, and merge with a machine and perhaps you forget, what you always wanted to forget.....

Yep.. it is normal. LOUD but normal.

The machine is not resetting, just reacting to not being connected to a Pachinko System.

hmmmmmmmm that has me thinking, I wonder if there is some signal that could be sent to the frame to keep it from doing that COUGH (Daverob) COUGH.

When you replace the battery in your car you can prevent the radio from locking up (anti-theft) by hooking up a 9V Battery to a lighter plug and pluging it into your cigarette lighter recepticle while you swap the batteries.
Maybe a battery to the right terminals and ??? no more alarms???

From the manuals for recent Kyoraku frames, there's no mention of any connections apart from the normal prepaid card unit (ie dongle) and battle counter, so I'm guessing that this alarm will be set off even in the parlours.

Unless there's an internal signal that can be blocked to stop the alarm, then the only solution I can think of is to disconnect the speakers after power up until the noise has stopped.

It wouldn't be that difficult to design a circuit board with either a timer or an alarm noise detecting circuit on it which will automatically disconnect the speakers, or mute the audio, until the alarm noise has stopped.

Only problem for me, is that I don't know which frames this applies to (I know it happens on the Big Bang and Stadium frames, but is it also on the Volcano, Crimson and earlier frames), and I don't own any Kyoraku machines at all, so can't work on a solution.

I'd be happy to have a go at this, but would need to find and purchase a suitable selection of Kyoraku games, and there doesn't seem to be that many of them available in the UK. I don't think I can justify the import costs of ordering from abroad, seeing as a Kyoraku alarm muting device is going to be a bit of a niche product.

Cheap solution? A switch or two that cuts off or mutes (via resistor) the speakers. Flip off, turn on machine, wait so many seconds, flip on. Easy

I just use the very effective 3 position volume switch in the back (volcano frame) . When I turn off the pachi I flip the volume to the lowest setting then when it gets turned on it is fairly quiet and when it is done I set it back to the mid setting for game play
