Jenken Battle Button

On my Fever Jenken Battle pachinko, there is a button next to the ashtray that flashes for about 5 seconds each time a ball goes in the tulip. When you push the button it stops flashing and the machine makes a beep. Other than that, I have no idea what this button does. Anyone have an idea what else it might be doing?

The button is the 'Chance' button for this frame. I don't remember it flashing for every spin on my machine, but the game does have sequences where it flashes for many spins in a row.

On Janken battle most of the time when it flashes pressing it will just pop up a small cartoon character at the bottom of the screen which will say something in Japanese (with a cartoon speech bubble as well!). This is supposed to give hints to the player about when a reach or fever is more likely to occur.

If it flashes when a large cartoon character girl (usually 'Mumu' the one with the green hair) pops up to the side of the screen, if you press it fast enough then it's possible that another girl will pop up (this time 'Nana') keep pressing and you might get a reach or fever out of it.

The other use for this button is when you get to play rock-paper-scissors against the computer (which doesn't happen very often), the screen will show a large graphic telling you to press the button and the button will change your hand (the animatronic one to the right of the screen) before the game begins.

Thanks for reminding me about the 'hand' select function of the button. I've only seen that once in the past year or so.
