Default CR Evangelion 9 - first impressions

Fedex dumped off an Evangelion 9 from yesterday along with a new Daichi battle counter. Quite a fancy machine... bought from Rakuten online seller "Mekapit" via FromJapan. The machine was superbly clean, well packed, etc. Original price was ¥16000 (exchange rate ~120¥/$) for a no-balls/no-stand/+volume/+transformer setup. Battle counter was ¥8500 (yes... more than half the cost of the pachinko). Anyway, for both shipped with fedex economy to California plus blah blah blee boop fees and the purchase price etc - about US$420. An about 10 days from order to my door. Pretty cool.

SO - abou the game. Some notable points:

    * Game flow is similar to Eva 8 pachi, but with mostly new content pulled primarily from the latest "Rebuild of Evangelion 3.xx" movie
    * Monstrously huge LCD - the playfield with pins area is smaller than ever.
    * LCD can go selectively transparent at times to show what seems like a lenticular 3-d lit picture behind the video. Sometimes the whole thing goes transparent, with the LCD showing flames or whatever as an animated overly. A very cool effect I don't think I've seen anywhere before.
    * The cell has a few points of animatronics ... no chomping Evangelion unit 1 head this time... replaced by that 3d thingie I guess. Buuut... the frame has a couple animatronic thingies on it too. Some core or entry plug things that spin and extend/retract.
    * I don't recall ever seeing this before in a pachi - but it has a cooling fan running all the time.
    * there are directional buttons for menu's and stuff.. plus a giant pulsing core on the front you can smack around at times during the game.

Anyway, only got a couple hours into it... I'll update this thread with any interesting new findings.

    a few pics:

IMG_4819.jpg those white thingies on the upper corners spin and move in&out... yow!

Found a bad scan of the manual for your counter:

...and I'm sure you already have the terminal block connections:

I like the Meal Break graphic (at least I think that's what it is).

you need a remote to change the settings

This lets you get to the meal breaks and about 300+ other config items (light shows, big hit graphics, default colors &c.)

Thanks. They got those on YJA.

Finally hit hit a couple jackpots... That ain't a 3d picture behind the screen. It's the usual screaming/chomping Eva face. Animatronics behind a selectively-transparent LCD... Very cool!

I saw this today and can confirm it is a beautiful machine. The LCD is HUGE. On my short list of must haves.
