Internet Explorer 7 is HERE!

The long awaited IE 7 is available. Woohoo!!! It has finally now incorporated tabs and it's a simple matter to open 20, 30, 40 or more threads on Pachitalk by holding the control key and clicking each thread into its own easily viewed tab.

Also included are new print features and print preview, built in (!!!) RSS feed, new search features, and much better security features that warn against phishing sites, and a bunch more.

to download it.

Best of all it is FREE! It is the same Internet Explorer that will be in the new Vista Software package.

I've been testing it all day and love it. It is now installed on all 4 of my home machines and my wife's computer at work.

I've been using the IE 7 beta for a week or so now and love it, much better. the tabs are a great feature.

Thanks Don, I just updated. First thing I noticed is that the image on my screen is clearer now.

Yep, John -- I think things look better, too. Just more clear. Better use of fonts or whatever.

The release posted is no longer beta, so don't hesitate to use.

Also, like all new software, it will probably take you a couple of hours to get used to it. There are changes and differences from the 6.xxx version of IE. Once you see all the advantages and new features, you'll be pleased, imo. It's much like trading in your old car and driving off in a new one. Smoooooth.

at first it was a little difficult but after about an hour or so i got used to it and like it a lot better!!!!

It is almost a firefox clone
I like it enough that I'll probably use it full time now instead of firefox, but I'll miss some of my firefox plugins like noscript and eBayNegs
Hopefully some folks will start pumping out some good plugins for this thing soon!

We are testing the new Windows (vista) with the new IE, the parental controls work very well! be sure your children have their own accounts and simply make them normal users then enable parental controls, it is configurable and blocks xrated crud. it also logs the sites visited and the sites blocked,very handy for younger ones. We are going to use this feature here at the college.

I installed the IE version for eBay Negs but if I highlight the ebay name and bring up the drop down I click on negs but nothing happens. Am I supposed to do something else?

ive become hooked wtih firefox.. i dont think i could ever go back to explorer...

explorer seems so clunky.....

What I would worry about is what it is doing behind the scenes? I don't trust microsoft myself...

OK what is fire fox? It's an operating system but I have only did things with explorer. Thats not counting for much ether!

Firefox is just a browser.

Safari which is made by Apple, is the only MAC specific browser that I know of.

I meant browser! I don't suppose you can have two browsers on the same computer? I will have to be setting this thing up so that my wife has to use only her user profile. She really doesn't know how to use the computer and without knowing it she does stuff to the settings that It takes me hours to undo and find out how to fix. If you can set it up for two different users than can you have two browsers?

You can have an many browsers as you want on your computer.


Unless Microsoft is now deleting everything it doesn't write to your hard drive upon installation!
