    Angry Unbelievable call from FedEx

Y'all aren't going to believe the phone call I got from FedEx.

As you know I ordered Super Blackjack Rio from Gaku recently and he usually uses FedEx. The regular driver Maurice and I are friends, and we always communicate when he has a delivery for me. However, he hasn't been to the new place yet, but I wasn't worried because he knows the town well.

The SBJ is scheduled for delivery today.

Anyway, I just got home from a photo shoot at the prosthitist and my cell phone rang. It was FedEx, but not my friend.

The conversation went something like this.

FE: Mr. Rahe, can you give us exact directions to your house?

ME: Certainly, it's very easy to get to. (I provided her with directions.) Any idea what time he'll get here?

FE: Well, it won't be today.

ME: Oh, why not? It's scheduled for today.

FE: Uh, it's not on the truck.

ME: Let me ask, is it here at the FedEx terminal?

FE: Uh, no sir, it's in North Litttle Rock.

ME: WHAT? Why is it still there?!

FE: Well sir, uh, it's like this. Maurice is on vacation and the substitute driver isn't familiar with your street address.

(I was still nice and asked the lady if it would be possible to get it here today. She said she'd let me talk to her manager.)

(He got on the line and after a short conversation...)

ME: You're telling me that you didn't even load the box because the driver didn't know where my street is?!

    FE: Yes sir.

ME: That is, without a doubt, the dumbest d@ammedable thing I've ever heard! You have my phone number, drivers have cell phones, he could have called and asked for directions!

FE: Mr. Rahe, if you can't talk civially we can't resolve this.

(I seemingly calmed down and we continued.)

ME: I took off from work today especially for this delivery. I can't afford to take off Friday, another day! Is it remotely possible that the driver can make this his first stop and I'll just be late for work and not miss the entire day?

(Not true, but FedEx didn't know that.)

FE: No sir, I can't guarantee that, but it will be before noon.

(We agreed this was the best they could do and ended the conversation.)

(Shortly after we hung up, he called back and said a driver lives just outside town and he will deliver it this evening, but not in a FedEx truck, his own vehicle. I really appreciate the man, whoever he is!)

    WOW... that truelly Sucks!!!

and wha t a load of POOP!!!

you would think that every single fedex/dhl etc etc truck out there had a map book for the area they are in..

damn when i was working as a pizza delivery driver when i was younger we all had the entire vancouver area map book in each car...

    its sounds like bunk

    unfamiliar with the street address...

anyway hopefully it will work out Tj..

    Stupid Courier companies..

I'd say it was pretty darn good service after your call... the fact that the driver is delivering to you in his personal vehicle! Wow, that's exceptional service. I love living in a rural area.

I will have to try that one out on my boss when I have to get to a job! Sorry boss I'm not familiar with that address. Then he would ask me if I know what that great invention a map is.

I'm glad it worked out but that is amazingly lame. Delivering is what they do, they are self-proclaimed professionals at this function. How do you not even attempt to deliver something because you have a question?

Funny you mention that. You know that prehistoric FEDEX add when the cave man taped a package to the leg of a big terradactal (however the hell you spell that) and then the big old dino bird gets eaten right outta the sky...

Then the club goes falling off into the netherworld!

Guy comes back to the cave and says package didn't make it.. they guys says you use FEDEX? and he says but FEDEX does not exist for another 5000 years.... and he says... I don't want to hear your excuses....

Then he runs out angered and gets stepped on by a TREX!

    Bahahahaha....

Now the irony of this is the story you just told...

It was so ridiculous that I would have been tempted to say to the mgr... wait you are kidding right? You can't deliver a package because you don't know how to find an address? You are joking right? Did I dial the wrong #? This is FedEx ins't it? Your pulling my leg right?

What this really is FedEx the proclaimed ULTIMATE in package delivery?
We have GPS, Cell Phones, Internet, Phone and even Trains, Planes and Automobiles... Yet we can't deliver a package cuz we don't know what on earth to do.... this is rather humorous to me as I was not the one eagerly awaiting the package..... but... Bahahahahahahaha

Now what you do is call corporate FedEx and tell your story... Praise the guy who got your item to your house but I'd definately report the mishap.

When it definately has to get there overnight???? bahahahahahaha

Why can I imagine a FedEx truck pulled off at a gas station asking for Directions.... LOL

Well glad all ended well and the machine arrived safe and sound.... what a story.

Well look what happened to Tom Hanks. Cast Away for 2 years. Wonder if any pachis were on that plane.

Just wondering, TJ, do you have a rural route address? Some do not like to deliver to those addresses these days.

Well, it's not exactly rural, but is a small town. So small we only have one Wal-Mart.

It's funny you should ask that Mike!! T.J. and I had talked about that happening, but the machine arrived yesterday, and not today like he first thought it would. I think ol' TJ is flu free, for now anyway.
