Mephisto

I picked up a Mephisto plus a few other machines from Big Bear. When I looked at Mephisto in the gallery it showed the front all lit up in blue lights. I have hit the chance bonus quite a few times, and no lights. I have yet to hit the regular bonus. Has anybody had the front light up with the blue lights. It looked really cool in the gallery. Thanks for any help.

I have 2 mephistos at home, When I get home, I'll play with it a little bit and see if they light up. Sometimes a Coin or hopper error lights up a bunch of the machine so you can check bulbs etc.

Pardon for suggesting the obvious but have you asked Gaku himself?

I have probably seen that but never noticed but if you have never seen it, it might only occur during some sort of "premium" event or bonus event.

One thing I do know, as I just serviced a mephisto I sold about a year aog, is that there is a light behind the top glass. Alot of the mephistos I have sold dont have this lit up, so I never thought about it. We took top glass off and there is a small 6 ich light up there. Went ot Lowes and got a replacemtn, I think it was like 6 bucks. It fired right up, really makes the machine look better with that light on!

Davis, are you referring to the one in the upper light box, or the one just in front of and above the reels. On the two I have, the light just above and in front of the reels does not light up during normal play.

Only 1 picture on Gaku's sight shows this light lit.

Mine does not light up, I think the photo is just high contrast.

Thanks for the help guys. First I checked the lamp at the top of the glass. I changed the bulb. No light. I have hit the chance bonus but not the regular bonus. Maybe the light only lights up in a bonus mode I haven't hit yet. I think I will just keep playing and try to hit the regular bonus and any other bonuses that may come up. I figure I would save calling Gaku as a last resort. Plus this gives me a good reason to keep playing.

You could just PM Gaku and let him respond at his convenience. He is a nice guy.

Have you tries unplugging and replugging your connectors on wiring???

I reseated the connectors, still no light. I have to bring a meter home tonight and see if there is any voltage going to what I suspect is the power supply for the lamp. There are 3 plugs from this supply. One goes up to the lamp, I will have to trace the other one and see where it goes, and if it is powering anything. I'll give myself a couple of more days playing with this and then probably drop a line to Gaku. I had a sound/video board go out on my million god that I got from him and he was GREAT with fixing the problem. I had e-mailed him and got a response in less then an hour. I received a new board in 3 days. What more could you ask for.

Tried a new light bulb. Light still didn't come on during a bonus. I have voltage going to the bulb. Guess I'll have to drop Gaku a line. If anybody has ever seen the light on please let me know.
