    Default Craigslist: The Maiden Voyage

    I've purchased pachislo's from ebay.
    I've purchased pachislo's from vendors.
I was even lucky enough to have found a warehouse almost a 1.5hrs drive from my home that sold Vegas slots, & had several dozen skill stop models on hand.
(Although 2 years ago they decided to soley deal in Vegas slots)
However, I have never purchased a pachislo from a listing on Craigslist...

    Until yesterday.
    Almost a month ago I found a listing for a 2003 Wonder Seven (AbiliT/Takasago), asking price $150.
The listing popped up in the "Surrounding locations" list under my local search.
It was in Pittsburgh, which happens to be almost a 2hr turnpike drive.
I've wanted a Wonder Seven since I discovered the joys of pachislo approx 4 years ago.
I almost purchased one 3 years ago at that warehouse I mentioned, but I took home a Death Valley instead (& an I'm Angel for TikiKiki).
I checked with them 2 years later & found they were getting out of the pachi business & only had less than a handfull left (with no Wonder7).

After checking the craigslist listing again last weekend & finding it hadn't been removed, I decided to make the call.
I found that the pachi was still available & the asking price was now $100.
In the past 4 years I have never seen this tiltle under $300, so I scheduled a meeting, which had me on the road by 7:00am.
We arrived by 9:30am & we're greeted by a very friendly man named Rick.
Rick showed us the machine... which was downright filthy.
It had a small crack in the center of the top lighting lens
& was covered in some kind of dust & grime alloy that reminded me of winter road grit when touched.
The black paint on the top & sides of the cabinet is scratched up badly in spots & peeling in others.
Under the grit, the machine appeared to have no cosmetic flaws whatsoever.
The inside was surprising clean, with just a touch of dust on some of the board encasements.
The reels were in excellent condition.

Rick played a few rounds for us to show that the machine worked & told us all about his children & hobbies.
He was a very interesting individual.
He constructed homemade wind turbines that he has connected to his home to cut down on his electric bill.
He even made his own hydrogen fuel cells to power his Chevy Trailblazer.

    Things went well.
I think if Rick had his way, he would have sold us alot more than the Wonder Seven.
(Because he showed us a ton of stuff during the visit)

After we said goodbye, we drove into the cultural district of downtown Pittsburgh, Pa, parked our vehicle & walked the city in search of lunch...
but it was so early that the only establishments open were McDonalds & the like.
    So we headed home.

sorry for the length of this post, but nobody posts here on the weekends... I was bored
Here are a few photo's of the dirty Wonder Seven.

    Nice find!

I'm glad it worked out for you. I've usually had pretty good luck on Crag's List.
I used to eat lots of natural foods until I found out most people die of natural causes.

    Yes indeed!
Now all I need is a fresh coat of paint on the cabinet to cover the blue underneath the wearing black paint,
(although a woodgrain laminet would look classy ) & a replacement lens for the center top light.
