Hi all, I’m wanting to reduce the volume of my machine, by any means necessary lol. I’ve read the sticky on this topic but it looks like my machine is too new to be able to utilise it. I’ve added some pictures below. It has 4 speakers and I can’t figure out which connectors are for them. It does have its own volume control, which is great when playing, but when you turn it on it goes through a booting phase where it plays insanely loud music for a minute or so. I’ve made some 1/4 inch rubber pucks that sit tightly in the top smaller speakers, but this has had little effect.

If you have a picture of the front. We can see the frame type. Newer machines have a pot on the back which is good as a master volume. Also.volume buttons on the front.

My AKB48 is now perfect. Including the annoying power up alarm.

Good spot, I hope it is! I’ll give it a go tomorrow and report back. There’s a switch higher up that has min & max on each side and has 3 positions, I thought that may be it but no difference in volume, do you know what it might be for? Thanks for your help so far

So what looked to be a red knob is actually a button, for what seems to be error clearing

Try pressing and holding the RWM button then turn the power on. Mine bring up a new menu. If you have Google translate on your phone. You might find something there.

By chance I came across the FAQ page on modernpachinko .com which said that on these machines the master volume is the 3 position switch that I first found, but it only effects in game sound and not boot up or system message sounds. Emailed them and they said the only route would be to add potentiometers to each of the speakers, which I’m fine with doing, but finding the speaker connectors/wires is the difficult part with how packed together it all is

Yeah that’s what I’d aim to do to be fair, but getting to them seems like a nightmare that would require a lot of disassembly of the machine and also the 2 side screens. For anyone who may be in my position in the future, I’ll keep commenting updates and see how far we get, lol. I emailed A-Pachinko about the above sound switcher, they came back with a price of $500, despite it being $118 on their site and the product description stating harnesses can be provided for different machines, with no mention of there being any increase in price for them, let alone an increase of that magnitude. I’ve asked for more info on how it’s fitted to the machine.

With the help of Google Translate, I’ve also emailed Kyoraku directly for information on the machine chassis, which connectors are for the speakers, and anything else they’re able to provide me technical info wise. I don’t have very high hopes for this being fruitful though, in all honesty.

if all else fails, I’ll make some more rubber pucks for the other 2 speakers and share the dimensions, lmao

Not much news on volumegate. Kyoraku replied with a flat no, as I expected. I replied to A-Pachinko to ask why the big increase in price compared to what the volume controller/converter is advertised as, and also quoted part of the page which covers installing the device, (Even if you are a first-time user, you can install the product with ease because it comes with a connection manual for the actual device) as throughout my emails with them, I was continually discouraged to install it myself (???). I haven’t had a reply since, lol.

Today I got to work finishing the cabinet I’ve been making for it, and rigged some PVC pipe to come out the side of it into a tray to catch balls that come out the back of the machine, just need to figure out something to increase the hopper capacity on the top now!

A deep paint roller tray works well at the bottom. Especially if you can pad it out with a thin strip of rubber to reduce the noise.

cheers, the problem I have though is knowing which wires are for the speakers. In my older pachislo machine getting to the speakers was easy, but this machine is anything but. I’d have to take apart a considerable amount of it, and from the little progress I made when trying was difficult. If I could just find out which connectors went to the speakers it’d be a lot easier
