Actually due to some possible changes in the how the ship sank Gordon Lightfoot actually changed 2-3 words of his song to accommodate the possible change of events in the way in which the ship sank! Even after all these years it still attracts attention. Since its mostly on the Canadian side they have blocked many from going out to view and explore for a variety of reasons.

i was just going to post this myself,some of the people on that ship were local to here,the ship sank shortly after it loaded ore here in the twin ports.YouTube - The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
