Default Just won this Sankyo of Ebay, help identify?

Hello, this is my first post to this neat forum. Browsing through here I see where some of you bought nice machines for $25! Well I paid alot more than that but it's refurbished and comes with a nice stand. Does anyone know the name of this machine, year and so forth. It's a Christmas present to me from my wife so I won't really be able to play with it till Christmas At least I'll be able to open the box to make sure it works! This is my first machine. I remember my parents friends had one when I was a kid in the 70's and I was pretty impressed with it.

There should be a sticker on it with a date when it was to be removed from the parlor in Japan (~3 years after date of manufacture). You can use that to estimate the date it was made.

The date is not a Julian date. There are many other posts here that deal with this identification. I am sure more people with chime in. I believe that year 52 equates to 1975.

I am a little shaky on this, the experts will provide better detail.

If I understand correctly - A quick rule of thumb is to add 25 to the date on the sticker so a 52 expiration is removal from the parlor in 1977, which means a manufacture date of 1974 or 75, as I think machines were in the parlors for 18 months? Not 100% sure of that.

There is a decent explanation of the dates on Dan's Pachinko Data Page:

We can be a little more exact than that.

The Japanese calendar is perhaps a mite more complicated than Dan's page indicates. It is best fully explained here : http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2272.html You can use this link to type in any christian based year and find the corresponding Japanese emporor-based one.

But, for the purposes of simplicity, you can use this Ready Reckoner below. Bascially, as far as Pachinko is concerned, we're interested in everything from about 1926 onwards. That would be the end of the Taisho era and the beginning of Showa. Check the calendar attached for the Reckoner…..

Thanks for the responses everyone! This is a really good site!
I can't post pictures yet because I just bought it off ebay and haven't recieved it. The seller has has a really great rating though. There is a pic of the back on ebay but all I could save was a really small version of it. I'll take some pics when I get it though. I can't wait to get it though hopefully in a week or so.
