Pink Panther Playguide - Help!!

Thanks to DaStooge, we've a wonderful scan of the official Pink Panther play guide right here:

Now, my Japanese is not very good (read: I absolutely cannae read a single character) and while I'd love to know what the whole thing says, I'm most interested in what the 3rd page down (the pink page) is depicting with the boxes of stars below the screen shots. Can anyone help?

Unfortunately, what's on that page is all I can provide as I don't actually own the playguide myself. I'd sent compirate a PM and this is what he wrote:

I think its showing you all the 'tells' - all the little things that happen in the background other than 'normal' spins (when the reels just spin), that signal a reach or a progressively better chance of a bonus.

Which makes sense. I'm VERY curious as to what the stars below the pictures mean/represent/indicate.

I believe when they put stars like that on a guide or website it indicates how rare a certain reach is...
* Common ***** Rare...Now someone that knows better can tell me I'm wrong!!
