    Default pachislo.com

I ordered a set of volume controls from them and 1 of the 5 units was damaged when i received it the plastic clicker part had fell off so i emailed them and they sent me a replacement which i received the envelope of today but when i go to the mailbox i had seen that the envelope had been opened and nothing was enclosed. It loos as if someone use a sharpened object to open the side of teh envelope? I emailed them and they aplogized for the problem and are fixing it again with no questions asked. Top notch.:burnout:

That is weird...but you know how crazy people are now with all this crap floating through the mail. I think I would report it to the local postmaster. You know that tampering with the mail is a federal crime.

Quite possibly tampered with before it reached your mailbox? Nevertheless I would still let the postmaster know of it.

Little envelopes (with interesting bulges) & tiny packages tend to 'stick' to fingers in the postal (& UPS also, btw) distribution network. I've had numerous little things 'disappear' or become 'disappeared' or 'get opened in transit' over the years (a replacement part, an undeveloped roll of slides, etc-stuff thieves can't use but they'll take a chance on anyway).
When I send out little things, I'll mark on the envelope in magic marker:

    SAMPLE OF NO VALUE

this deters MOST individuals with 'stick fingers syndrome'.
If companies would adopt this, it might cut down on some of the thievery.

Back in the 1960s, I ran my own very very small import company when I was in college (jewelry & silver from India, beer steins from W. Germany, knives from Finland, etc) & stuff would come in marked "SAMPLES OF NO VALUE".

The first auto-credit chip that Rob sent me came with a tear in the package and nothing inside of it. It was just a chip so I'm not sure what someone thought they were going to do with it. It was clearly torn open by someone. A nice little square flap.

a lot of their sorting and cancelling is done automatically,

it could just be that the odd side of the envelope is the problem.

Isn't Arby's shop an old post office? Maybe he's re-routing all of the pachi packages to his place?

Arby's shop was a bank, he still has the original vault in it.

Rk: the post office (& UPS, & maybe fedex, too, but I've never had a problem with them) do employ thieves- at least till they're caught. The lure of taking someone else's stuff is just too great for some of these individuals. However, if the envelope is marked "SAMPLE OF NO VALUE", it tends to discourage some of the crap that goes on. For most of them, they tend to believe the text.

As someone speculated, this is caused by the post office sorting machine...
Any envelope that has a bulge in it has a good chance of being ripped open. I lost a lot of chips like this at first; even when I tried double enveloping them... It's why I started requiring them to go UPS. Almost seemed like a no-brainer; .32 stamp or $6-9 UPS charge.

I flew to Washington DC at the end of June and when I got to my hotel I realized I had a 3 inch pocketknife in my purse. I went through security at the Pittsburgh airport and no one ever stopped me. Well, I decided to be smart and mail the knife back to myself rather than it being confiscated at the Washington airport on my way home. My envelope arrived at my house in two days minus the pocketknife and it appeared the envelope wasn't opened or tampered with at all. So who knows where that knife went. I called the PO but they just said tough luck. I mean it wasn't a pachislo knife or anything like that.
