    Default currency conversions ????

    hi

I see sumone on ebay is selling a BLACKJACK and says he done a 10 p conversion so it accepts 10 pence coins

Is this possible and if so how if any one has any ideas >>> ???

But is it true that sum machines accept the different currency if they are the same size as a token >>> ???

    cheers

We don't discuss any coin conversions on these machines.

That makes them gambling devices and illegal

It may or may not make it illegal at your location or for your intended use, but the information could be used by sombody to make a machine illegal where they live or for their intended use. One concern is that if these machines become widely percieved as illegal gambling devices, it could result in legal action which could make our hobby illegal in many areas.

Someone should shut down the guys SELLING info on token conversions on ebay for this very reason.

Ironic that ebay removes pachi auctions that don't put in enough legal disclaimers about NOT being easily converted to coins, yet those conversion auctions plaster the scene multiple times a day.

I think the best thing really that if you are looking to save currency in a slot machine then you buy a traditional UK pub type fruit machine which are easily obtainable for home use from a licenced seller, but damn heavy to pick up.

Paschilo is a skill machine rather than a gambling device and the whole culture surrounding Paschilo is that they are token fed with tokens that can be changed for prizes. It almost seems like blasphamy to convert a Paschilo machine to coinage, i guess it depends how passionate you are about keeping Paschilo pure to its origins. (it wasnt so long ago in the UK that fruit machines had a maximum payout before paying in tokens, which could be changed for goods in arcades or beer in pubs and the same concept existed of exchanging tokens for goods) believe it or not, i can remember this was a maximum payout of 50pence, anything above you got tokens.

I have no doubt that Paschilos are easily converted to take 10 pence but what the dudes are saying on here is that "we are not advocating this information to something that can ruin a damn fine hobby, and are US cousins have stricter regulations on gambling than us Brits (maybe their ethics are something we should consider, gambling can cause many recked lives from addiction).

I may be getting on the soap box, but Paschilo is for fun, not for saving cash, getting your mates around at the barbecue to rid them of their change. Keep a box of spare tokens about and let them play for free paschilo and so they can spread the word of what i consider to be not only a sport, a hobby, but fantastic pieces of furniture to boot. Gambling only pays when youre winning.

    Just like sunny California.
The main reason they are illegal in here is they are classified as slot machines by the gaming control board.

I have a better idea. Let's stop electing officials who think they can ban everything we do in our own homes.

    Good point noob....

but then I'd rather use tokens in the machines at home anyway and use the money I'd save in quarters to buy more machines.

It might be easier to save quarters if you were feeding them into the machine.

I tried that with the quiz machine I own. Trouble is, the wife nips in and takes money whenever she needs change for parking etc! Take it from me, tokens is best.
