I thought the number of golds counted first and foremost, followed by silvers and then bronzes? In other words, the US should be second?

I have no idea, total medal count seems to be the way they are doing this. It's NBC's site and the way they've been handling these Olympics is a joke so it wouldn't surprise me if they got this one wrong too.

They seem to allow more for golds, then silvers etc. That's how the tables I've seen always look, though that's not to say that's the right way to do it.

Hey! That no fair! Earlier in the Games it was in fact putting you higher, as you'd won more golds. It's only cos everyone else has caught up by winning more golds, that you're not so high now. Is it always so formal, or is that just the presentation of this article? In looking at that, I would think people woud be offened if someone showed up in jeans and a polo with some sneakers.
Another thing, where's the fried chicken? The biscuits looked good but you really need some southern fried sausage gravy to go with them. Yum!
