    Default Pachinko Cabinets and Keys

Guys do you know if gameroom cabinets(pachinkocabinets.com) gives any discounts to Pachitalk members?

I also wanted to ask about keys because my new Pink Panther did not come with one. I can open the glass with the rear latch. However, I am almost certain that my unit did not include a key.

How important is the key and should I contact the company that I bought the unit from and ask them why I have no key?

If they do not provide a key is there any way to get a key for my unit?

Gameroom cabinets put an appx. 4" hole in the side so you can access the door locks from the inside.

Yes, normally the company you buy from will give you a key, but if it is a private owner or a smaller company, perhaps not?

You can contact the various companies to get a key or you can take the pins out of the lock and use a small screwdriver to open the cabinet from the outside. Take a look at Arby's instructions. Even if you don't have this exact same lock, it will help you to figure out what to do: http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/show...highlight=lock

Yes I have a lock and no key. However, I can open the front glass with a latch on the back of the machine.

What I noticed is that some of the pachinko sellers state that a key is included.

I thought a key might convenient if I put the pachinko machine in a case and wanted to access the rear using a key.

According to the first reply my problem may be solved by adding a hole near the glass latch and by the power swtich ...
That may be my best bet w/o a key.

But my question goes out to you guys... Do you usually get a key from the vender when you purchase a pachinko machine????
I did double check the ad from the vendor I purchased the machine from and it does not state that a key is included.

I believe most of the major vendors do offer a key. If you purchased from a smaller vendor or from Japan or whatever, that might not be the case. That being said, did you notice the link to Arby's "no key needed" mod above in my post?

Just went back and looked and you purchased from Pachislo.com, right? Call and ask them if they have the key.

Unless it's specifically stated that a key is included... they usually aren't.
But it couldn't hurt to call... worst they could say is "no".

As for the cabinet you're wondering about, is that eBay user b840?
I think he's a member here... but I'm not aware of any discounts.
I don't have one of their cabinets, but I hear they are very nice.

Out of the six pachinkos I have only 1 came with a key.
In the past few months most of the major vender's have started including keys with their pachinkos.

Before then it was standard for all pachinko sales descriptions to say "no key included" "no key needed" or "keys not available" bla bla bla.......

Also, Arbys no key mod works great.

I also read in a thread tonight that you can purchase a "so called pachinko seleton key" from one of the sellers. I made note of the link.

Apparently you can pay about 13 bucks and get a key that will likely work on almost all of the units.

I sent an email to the vendor so if anyone wants to find out what they have to tell me please feel free to PM me.

BTW, gameroom cabinets I think does give either a 10% discount, discounted shipping, or free balls. I don't remember, but he does or did give a discount of somekind.

    Great cabinet! I love mine!

No cabinet, they sent some cheezy metal feet, i trashed them and put some plain wooden plaques on the bottom for feet that I got from walmart crafts section.

I was looking at this as a possible cabinet option:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Display-cabinet_...QQcmdZViewItem

For the price ($49), and the way they have it set up to load the balls, etc., it seems like a good deal, especially with their offer to paint it a color of your choice for free. The only thing I can't figure out is the shipping cost. To this area, it's $38. Their pre-assembled cabinet ships for only $30. Supposedly, one of the main advantages of getting it unassembled is to save on shipping costs. I sent an email to ask why, but haven't gotten a response yet.

That stand is different than the ones I've purchased from this vendor. The one referenced above looks to be an open cabinet with no back on it. It is basically a nice stand with a large wooden box to catch balls behind it and with a funnel.

    I do recommend this cabinet.

    or this one:

Both accept feet if you are going to use them on a table and the design makes handling the balls easy and the door at the bottom to retrieve your spheres is great.

Does the pachinko machine fit directly inside the after-market cabinet (whichever one you choose), or does anything have to be removed from it in order to fit into the after-market one? And what would be the disadvantage of the less expensive "frame" design, assuming it doesn't have a back? (which appears to be the case)

The machine with its wooden case will fit right into the cabinet and is held in place by pre-drilled holes for screws you'll put into the machine's wooden case. You will have to remove any "feet," of course, that might have come on the machine.

The more expensive design routes your balls to the door in the front. You no longer have to get behind the machine to retrieve the balls out of a tub. Also, when you fill the design with a back, when you overfill the ball holder on the top of the machine and they spill (and, yes, you will do this a lot pouring into that funnel) the balls just fall inside the case to be retrieved out the little door. With no back they are going to be rolling around on the floor.

Kewl. So while the less expensive design offers greater stability over the OEM feet, as well as an aesthetic boost, the more complete design offers that as well as increased functionality. For the nominal price difference, the more complete design seems like a no-brainer. But it's nice that they offer a less expensive option. I also like the fact that they sell NEW balls, rather than polished/used ones. They claim that by not having any names etched into their balls, not only are they new, but they tend to stay nicer longer. All you need is one rusty ball in a batch to really mess the rest of them up.
