    Default Hmmm... rather addictive.......

    well.........

Started out with a Metal Slug Pachislo, and then a second ( Hanabi Hyakkei )came all too quickly....

Then my "dealer" introduced me to "hard stuff" : Pachinko ! Only tried the Star Wars once and then it came home with me.....now I have a whole wall planned for cabinets.......a CR Fireworks and a Batman are on their way............God knows what would happen if I wasn't limited by space.........

Has anyone ever gone to the Priory with a Pachi problem ?

I remember something from my high school physics called Boyle's Law.

It had something to do with Pachinkos automatically filling an available space. This law especially applies to empty beer bottles and TV guides. I learned the hard way that it also applies to Pachislos and Pachinkos.

I should have stayed awake during high school science classes instead of day dreaming about Jennifer ......... Nayh, perhaps not, just remembered I had fun then and I'm having fun now!

First you have to look at your machines the same way a museum looks at art or antiquities. You have the Public galleries and the storerooms. Every once in a while the displays in the galleries are changed to allow the public something new to look at. You can build a whole exhibit around your machines. Based on Case color, theme, age, size of the video screen and the list goes on.

Follwing this example you will not be in trouble until you run out of room to store the machines in your "storeroom".

Hope that helps make some more room for another homeless pachi

Too right ! I had already been toying with a sort of quick release idea so that the machines could be swapped from storage to cabinet more easily.......

It starts slowly; it always does, creeping in on cat’s feet.
First you see a pachinko machine in a store or on a website. Then you think “I might like to have one”. Soon you are watching E-bay auctions like your life depends on the outcome. Before you know it you are dreaming about Pachinko. The first thing you do when you get up in the morning is to get your fix of Pachinko, and then the day can begin. Before you know what happened you find yourself waking up in an alley dressed in rags, surrounded by rusty Pachinko balls and wondering where your next meal will come from.
It’s a tragic tale told over and over by recovering Pachi-addicts. What’s worse is the 12 step program for recovery. It starts with the abuser going cold turkey and ends up with him/her forced to visit BINGO halls late at night for “maintenance” therapy.
    Be afraid, be very afraid.

You know, you're not kidding about dreaming about pachinko. I don't understand why so many of my dreams for the past month have involved pachinko or pachislo in some fashion. I only have one pachinko and one pachislo machine!

Unfortunately I live in a townhome and I don't have much space. I also have difficulty justifying spending so much money on pachislo/pachinko games. I mean, I could buy a video game for $50 and play it for weeks or months and always see something new. With the pachislo all I do is push buttons. The pachinko is even less interactive than that (and a heck of a lot louder). They're both slightly more interactive than watching a badly written TV show.

And yet, for some reason, I want MORE... what the hell? Are these things giving off crack fumes or something?

My significant other has been amazingly understanding, but I don't know what she'd think if I bought as many of these things as I'd like. And my fear is that the obsession will wear off as quickly as it came and I'll be stuck with a crapload of pachislos that I won't be able to unload without a huge amount of hassle.

    I need medication.
