Once a reel gets a dimple/indentation, is there any way to fix it?

For most of my low-heat heat gun needs, I actually use a hair dryer that my wife rejected a few years back. It doesn't have the oomph of a heat gun, but sometimes that's a good thing

I was just "testing" one of Paula's hair dryers on a little wax coated Dixie cup. I made a 2" wrinkle in the side of the cup, then put the hair dryer on low speed, low heat, and moved it back and forth over the wrinkle. It melted the wax coating, but took the wrinkle right out. I'm not sure I would be able to get the hot air directly on the back side of the reel strip since it's still on the reel, but I can definitely apply the hot air to the front side. I think I'll give it a shot; nothing to lose, since it totally looks like hell the way it is now.

A hair dryer will work fine.
