The capacitors in the machines hold the memory for a period of time -- in most cases, unless they are going bad, for 72 hours minimum and often for several weeks. Therefore, when used in a parlor, you'd never have a situation where the machines were turned off for that long.

Does that mean that the machines are going faulty or will the capacitors recoup if left turned on for a while ?

Just dug my SW out, waited for the test thingy to be over with, turned it off and back on, now its ok, will leave it on for a day and see if it holds its memory after a few hours off.
will get back to you Sunday with results....

Your telling us you have a Star Wars and it isn't in a shrine in the middle of the house, nea, a building of it's own?

I only bought it to give the wife something else to have a go at me about.....

No point in having her winging about nothing.

Also bought a Pink Panther Pachinko and a Terminator Paschilo, If theyre moaning at you for nothing go out and buy yourself something really expensive, at least theyve got a reason to have a got at you then.
Got my pins, pool table and other stuff that way.

I turned my SW on for 24 hours, turned it off for about 6 and guess what.. it comes on straight away, no test routines, Im going to try it again every day just to see how long it keeps its memory for....

Excellent Compirate ! This rendering is exactly the way my Star Wars Pachinko is situated!

The princess is now only allowed to be admired from a distance (no touching as she only knows my touch...except for what arby did to her before sending her to me....hmmmm )

    back go to topic LOL

Just to let you knwo my Star Wars , like most you do, goes to that blank screen when I power it on. The next power off/on start the game fine.
What Sankyo said about this fact ?
    - "Kimberley, come in, are you okay ?"
    - "Oh sure, I'm just kidnapped by Aliens, that's all !"
    - "I'll save you Kimmy"
    - "GET ME OUTTA HERE !!!"

Sankyo has said nothing to my knowledge. They generally don't reply to emails, not even sure they can read them or even care. They are not the sellers to us and don't offer support.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

Is this possibly a Sankyo phenomena? I just purchased a Sankyo Wonder Powerful machine and have the same problem at start up of the machine going through a test routine then the screen goes blank. After the test routine, if I turn it off and on the LCD screen comes on with it's start-up video. It wouldn't be a problem, but I think it resets every time I turn it back on because when it comes back on, it's not where I left it. My Popeye and Robocop both turn back on where I left it when turned off.

Has anyone found a fix for this yet or have any recommendations? Is it just a matter of leaving it turned on for a few days to charge up some batteries or capacitors? Any help would be appreciated.

btw, the Wonder Powerful is a really nice machine and my girls really like it. They're especially fond of the case color and lights.
