    Delighted you are enjoying your Las Vegas, bf of pf.

    I don't understand www.putfile.com and their reasoning for removing so many Pachislo videos. Of the 15 short videos I put up of the LV, only 3 remain. All the rest say;

    MEDIA REMOVED
    Copyrighted, poronographic, vulgar,
    or illegal contentis not allowed.

    Really makes sense, doesn't it.

    Totally. The only thing I left out when I wrote the review is that we added volume controls and that makes it even more enjoyable. Las Vegas is louder than Tomcat & I'm Angel, to the point that the speakers sounded a bit strained/shrill at times, and the volume controls helped eliminate that. Just a fantastic machine!
    (As far as what's going on at putfile.com, that makes no sense at all.)

    Since I'm already registered, I don't know how it looks on your page, but I think over in the upper left hand corner of the main page you should see something that says: Register.

    Then just do what it says, Tulsa sends you an email, and you're registered.

    Drat! I got so excited I forgot all about the reel noise. I'll tell ya, TJ, but you gotta promise not to hate me afterwards, ok? (Waits for TJ's response....Bingo. Ok, then.)
    We got 2 LV's. One is typically noisy/grindy. The other one, after a little judicious placement of some of the gray foam padding from the box Gaku shipped it in, that I cut down, is almost whisper quiet. It hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmms a precision turn. (Of the reels, that is).

    But I also have to point out something very weird that happened after installing the volume controls. The first machine - the noisier one - went off without a hitch. On the second one, however, I ran into something I'd never run into before. I adjusted the volume controls - with the door open - to the exact level I wanted. It was perfect. (And on LV, you have to do it fast, because it cuts back to the lower BB volume faster than any machine so far). Then, as I was closing the door, right before it shut completely, the volume boosted up as if there were no volume controls at all. I checked and double checked the connections and everything seemed to be just like the first machine that worked so well. I looked all up and down along the door hinge; I checked to see if maybe the hopper wasn't pushed back all the way and was somehow banging into something when I shut the door. Everything looked fine. Then I repositioned the volume control for the left speaker a little differently, and that fixed it. Only problem is, I'm not sure exactly what it fixed; or what was wrong in the first place. I put it back in the original position and the problem returned. I then shifted it back to the "new" position, and the problem disappeared. I think for now, I'm just not going to be repositioning that volume controller any more.

    Would you be kind enough to post a picture of the added foam padding on the second machine?
    Better yet show both so we can compare the two and also learn how to cut down reel noise.

    I could but it really wouldn't help. It's a completely hit or miss thing. What I do is feel around along the top of the reel cage, pushing in/out/down, etc., to see if I can alter the vibration. When I find a spot that seems to decrease the noise, I look for foam packing material that I can wedge in to try to simulate what I'm doing with my hand. Each one is different. On the LV, I put a piece of foam somewhere in the vicinity of above/behind the third reel. But on I'm Angel I put a long piece vertically right above the first reel. It all depends. You have to experiment and see what, if anything works. For a while, I had 3 foam pieces in Neo Planet, then one day I took them all out and it was the most quiet since I've had the machine. Go figure.

    But, if it will help, here are photos of LV, I'm Angel, & Tomcat, so you can at least see what I'm talking about. (Disclaimer: Remember, you mileage may vary).

    bf_of_pf, see? That's the way I am about my machines. The play overides the noise. Thanks for the pictures of your fixes. Looks easy enough that I may actually try it on a couple.

    I think the main problem is that Yamasa's reel cage are held in by a single screw and a couple of hooks. If you were to pad the hooks and screw in the other side of the reel cage (there is a hole, but I didnt have a screw that fit) it might stop the vibrations that is probably causing the noise. I noticed that the it quiets down a little while each reel that I stop.

    Except the thing is, Bellco's reel cages are also held in by a single screw and a couple of hooks, seem to be kind of plastic and flimsy, yet they are much quieter.
