Put a small peice of electical tape over it .
The prblem will still be there, but the E will disappear.
Sorry, thought I was telling my mom how to stop the 12:00 from blinking on the vcr there for a sec.
From what I am reading, it seems that the machine needs the powerstrip turned off while this is being done.
turn off strip, unplug hopper, turn on strip see E, turn off strip, plug in hopper, turn on strip, maybe reset?

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

Tony I don't know what this plug looks like, but this could something to look into. The wire is crimped unto a metal connector witch slides into the plastic plug itself. When you pull out a plug two things could happen. Ether the hole wire and metal end slide out of the plastic plug just enough to not make the contact it needs to. Or the metal core of the wire brakes with the outer sheathing still intact. I get this a lot on the work cords for the sanders. The wire gets bent enough times at the end of the plug that enough of the wire strands brake inside and there is not enough power going through the remaining intact wire strains. As you wiggle the cord or wire with the power on it will go on and off. So heres something to try. Unplug the connector. Look into the end of it. Does all the metal connector ends all look like they are the same length? Or is one or more set farther in? On the possible broken or damaged wire. Look at them. Any discoloration on any of them, especially near the plug itself. I would say with machine on and connector plugged in wiggle individual wire or the whole bundle to see if something happens. Probably wont help because you will need to reset after. Maybe hold the wire bundle one way or the other and hold it there and do a reset and see if error goes away. If it does and it comes back after you let go then you know its a wire problem. Maybe others can give you help in figuring out with a meater or something if the individual wires in the connector and wire bundle are good.

Thanks, Laz. Next time my nephew comes by I'll get him to try all the suggestions.

Darn thing was off at the strip for 4 days. That should have been moree than enough for just a power off.

check the pins on the connector to see if any were bent or pushed in or if for some reason a wire got pulled off , also check the wiring going from the plug to the power supply that its firmly seated in the power supply . somethings not making a connection or theres a coin stuck in the hopper thats not allowing the sensor to see the light . flip the hopper over and make sure all the wiring and plugs going to the sensor and motor are good and tight . thats about all you can do except find oneone with a like hopper and try it .your sensor just may have gone south on you .....

Good news, the Arra King is cured!

It took a while, but it seems there was a couple of problems, one, the connector wasn't seated properly even though we checked that several times, and secondly, there was a slightly bent token stuck and hidden.

I'm not so sure about the connector and blame the problem on that ever so slightly bent token. When we dumped the hopper, we looked but didn't backspin the motor. We thought we had all the tokens out.

Anyway, Milt's gold colored tokens run perfectly through the machine now.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

I'm sorry it took so long to get the machine fixed, but I had to wait until he had enough time to spend tracking down the problem.
