    Default Fire Express Registry Thread

I want to express my gratitude to all of you that steered me away from this machine. I will post a "thanks" to all of you that register your machine on this thread. It's the least I can do for those that took the bullet for the rest of us.

bf_of_pf and pfurman, your reviews are the best I've read on Pachitalk. Thanks for your insights on the models that you have reviewed. My first machines are on the way. I hope that I can live up to the high standards you have set with your excellent reviews. Sorry 'bout your Fire Express machine experience, although you've saved the rest of us some grief.

Thanks. We're both obviously very highly opinionated - and expressive - but at the same time, we recognize and acknowledge the validity of other points of view, and everyone's right to express his/her point of view. As long as everyone respects another person's right to have and express an opinion, the threads can be very dynamic and constructive. Conversely, if everyone were constricted to parroting just one opinion, it would be like a guitar where every string was tuned to the same note; harmony & creativity would be impossible, or very limited at best. So, on that note, we look forward to seeing your reviews in the future.

Well, thanks, but some of the best reviews I've read are by Tony Jr. (and others) And that's not false modesty; he in particular really does do a good job of reviewing a machine as objectively as possible. I know I tend to go a little overboard with my reviews, but I've found the members here to have a pretty good sense of humor when it comes to stuff like that. I'm a relative newbie here and am still learning the ropes, and I've learned a lot from TJ, Azlew, Tulsa, Slotter, Rupan, Dattia, Arby Coffee, Dalto, & others. And it sounds like you're gonna find this to be a very cool place. I'm definitely looking forward to your reviews. It seems like you're able to make yourself right at home, and that's very kewl.

Made me laugh pf, because in our office room we have three computers. My daughter, wife and myself all have our own machines on our own desks and frequently are all doing things on our separate computers all at the same time. Families in the "new millennium," eh?

That is a good idea..we have just one and I am forever getting booted off by the kids (homework takes priority over Pachitalk) I stayed with one because I keep it in the family room under my watchful eyes, but I think I can make room for another and still keep an eye on things.

Great idea! It makes things a lot smoother. About a year ago - before he hooked up his computer - it was hard sometimes finding a good balance as far as who got to use the computer. He does a lot of audio editing (he makes the best compilation CD's!!) and that takes a lot of time, and I understand that. But I couldn't always check my email when I wanted, so it's much better now with the two computers.

A pictures is worth 1000 words. This works for us in the office area and keeps our daughter out of the bedroom and with the family, too, when she is doing her computer stuff.

Very good set up. I just had desks built into each side of the fireplace in the den. My laptop is on one side and my (soon to be) desktop will be on the other. I agree, it is important to keep the kids with the family.

What, no pachinko balls on the floor? A Pachislo used as a monitor stand? What kind of Pachiholic are you?

Hmmm... perhaps, I need to rearrange?

Note to self: Bring machines upstairs and have a few in office, too.
Second note to self: Don't tell wife I'm going to rearrange.

Thanks for including me in your distinguished list, I am honored. I'm not really known around here for my "useful" contributions, but they let me hang out all the same anyway.

Y/W. And don't sell yourself short, D. You are one of the main reasons I've participated here as much as I have. You're one of the few females who posts here regularly, and that's helped me feel more comfortable. Plus, you "tell it like it is", and that's helped me a lot as well.

Yep, D's a real jewel. Wouldn't be the same place without her at all.
