Default Star wars - what does this gate actually do ?

    Hi,

Can any Star Wars owners tell me what this does ? It doesn't seem to do anything .... just ahole that the ball passes through ?

    Any help appreciated .....

    Cheers

Flipper pocket, every time a ball goes thru you get a flipper opening (but when the machine want to open) you can stock up to 4 flipper openings. Only opens for .2 of a second

As Arby said, you can bank up to 4 start pocket flipper openings. You'll see it open and close very fast to allow you an additional chance to get a ball in the start pocket. After a bonus, during Chance runs, the stocked openings last longer (a second or so) instead of just .2 seconds.

by start pocket flipper do you mean that it opens the "jaws" on the centre start pocket..... 'cos nothing happens when I drop a ball through the gate in regular play................

sorry this should also be in the tech forum I guess.....

sorry I am typing before reading.......

so this gate opener only functions at certain times during play.....not all the time right ? When I first had the machine it went into fever right after turning on, before I'd worked the payout mech - just after that the flippers were opening closing then....

Apologies for being such a noob

Thanks for all the help ....

It doesn't open the start pocket right away. It will do it randomly as you continue to play. Play it and watch.

After reading your post, it made me have a go on my Star Wars and waddyaknow, I noticed the flippers opened for the first time during normal play. Shortly after I got a Fever. Coincidence, no?

Check out this thread. I wrote fairly detailed information about its function:

Do you mean the little LED 2 character display below R2D2 ?

Mine nornally reads _ _ during regular play - are you saying I should see number spins there ? Does this mean there is a problem with my gate ?

    Cheers

It only shows numbers during the 100 spin chance round, Play the machine you will learn more that way.

Sorry, I had to make the immediate assumption that it was located there from just looking at a picture of the cel when I wrote that post. In many machines that's roughly where the subdigital display is located as well as sometimes on the LCD display where I *think* the Star Wars one is. Someone (Arby?) will have to confirm this since I can only work off of pics on the internet.

The probability of them opening during regular play is fairly low and the sub-roulette takes a long time to complete a spin. If you're in bonus mode, you will see it open more often.
