yes the coin box would go infront of them and the prongs go through the box to sence how many tokens the box is holding ie how full it is
My rice krispies told me to do it

That's for the overflow bin. The hopper fills up and spills tokens into the side overflow bin. (The bin basket allows the two prongs shown to go through into it.) When the overflow bin fills up, the tokens short out across the prongs, give an error, and the attendant knows to come and empty the hopper.

Most machines are shipped without overflow bins and the wiring for them disconnected as there is little value to them for home use. Only one of my machines came with a factory overflow bin. I did get small bins to put on the side to handle any overflows, but there is no longer a hopper error.

I just received my "King Camel" today.... and noticed a coin overflow box... All wiring is in place... Hopefullly, though I won't have to see if it works before it starts paying out.....

I prefer to test it by pouring tokens into it!!!

shouldent be a problem it seems that most machines remember there intake /output of tokens yours was just having a stingy stage when they turned it off and packed it

Machines are often exported with the overflow boxes in place and vendors take them out. Many of the overflow boxes I have seen are cut out on the bottom to match the hole that is usually cut into the bottom of your machine. I suppose if you really wanted one you could glue something over the hole. I don't know what vendors do with them typically, probably throw them away...?

There are lots of containers floating around out there that will work as an overflow bin. Just get yourself a plastic container from WalMart in the Glad Food container department. There are a few that fit nearly perfectly.

I ask my vendor(Gaku) to make sure they are included. I just think it makes the machines complete. They also come in very handy. They fit perfectly. slide right in and out and I can pour the tokens right into the tray instead of pulling from the hopper. In the machine I have that does not have a bin in place, I find tokens all over the bottom. I have noticed on the machines that do have them in place Sometimes the tokens fall into the overflow bin when the hopper is not full. I guess this is what the casinos call money for the house. One overflow bin has the hole cut out in the bottom and at one time a piece of tin was put back inside the bin, over the hole, so it will hold the tokens again. One of my overflow bins is made of tin at the bottom and no hole. Some are made completely of plastic. One of my Machines didnt have a bin and I got lucky. I won an auction from this guy
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Pachislo-Slot-Ma...QQcmdZViewItem
and he sent me three bins and one just happend to fit in the machine that was missing it. I bought the bins from him to hold extra tokens and to sit them beside my machines. The last Machine I bought (Popeye) While I was there I had Big Bear mount the transformer in a spot to accomidate the overflow bin. They did a great job as usual! ( Along with the volume control). I know there are a bunch and I mean a bunch of different size overflow bins. When I ask them for a bin they have to scramble around and find one that fits or get one out of the same exact type machine as the one I am buying. I think most of the vendors just toss them out when they go thru the refurb process. Me...I like mine with the original bin in them!

    Some overflow bin solutions.

First is a bin that I found in my wife's closet :

Next, we have a Glad Container from Walmart for $.89 cents:
    PICT2186 (Small).JPG

Last is an actual bin that came with the machine:
    PICT2191 (Small).JPG

They all work fine. The pictures might give someone an idea out there in case they want to something to catch the tokens that will invariably fall to the side.

I like the original bin too (one came with my Hanabi Hyakkei and the overflow sensors are there too), but I'll bet if there's a hole in the bottom of the pachislo, then the parlour had an automatic feed for their token system and they likely threw the bin out before it went into the parlour. (I forgot to ask for one for my King Camel, so indeed coins bounce out of the hopper from time to time and end up in the bottom of the machine.)

Thanks, x3. I hunted around a bit to find those bi-metal tokens, although there are a lot of them around, here and there. I am using them in the IGT Harley. They don't work well in my other machines as they are a bit thick on the edge. They are my favorite token.

BTW, as one can see, that last picture has a much larger hopper which really IS needed for the Harley machine when it goes into its payout mode. Woohoo!

Milt uses black duct tape over the holes in the bottom of the trays, also on the low side of some hoppers. you can keep more tokens in that way

    Nice pics slotter thx!
    just a little vegas info....
I live in vegas and i know the hole on the bottom of slots if for the coins to fall thru to a tin bucket, for when the casino makes the drop every evening. They pick up buckets and buckets of coins under every machine's stand. Funny thing is the stand is made of particle board with a $5 lock. That is where all the coins fall that are lost by the players...the hopper stays full unless it has had a slow consistent loss and then the slot mechanic comes by to reset and fill, or usually he just closes the machine down.

just a little inside info from me an ex casino engineer
