Good morning Pachiland...I'm sorry to report that my effort got off to a rocky start. Everything went as planned until I tried to go to sleep. I could not get to sleep for anything and then I started to get dizzy and nauseous. After worshipping the porcelain several times, I took the patch off and finally was able to sleep for about a half hour before my alarm went off this morning. I guess the patch is not going to be my friend...I will just have to do this the old fashioned way. Good night all, it's back to bed for me.

you're taken the first step and are further ahead than those that are still trying to quit.

Best of luck, Do they have a smoking cessation progam at your or your husbands work? I know my employer has one that they push and spouses are encouraged to attend as well.

If that ain't incentive I don't know what is. You go girl, good luck to you and Mr. Dattia
If I take up smoking and then quickly quit, do you think that will give me enough money to buy some pachislos?

    Good luck to you both.

My girlfriend and I quit about 3 or 4 years ago on new years. Tried the patch but didn't even help at all. They say cravings last about 5 minutes or so. So if you get a craving they say go and brush your teeth. By the time you are done the craving will have past. I did that and alot off the baby carrot sticks to munch on while at home.
Also find a hobby to keep yourself busy. Thats when I had started to build my mame machine. Kept my hands and my mind busy for hours on end.

Hang in there Dattia! Each day gets easier than the last.

I quit twice so I know what you are going through. I quit cigarettes 15 years ago, started with cigars 5 years ago, and have now quit them too. Dropping cigarettes was harder than the cigars, but they get their hold on you too.

I found it easier to go cold turkey. No occasional smokes. No patches. No gum. These crutches just keep reminding you that you want to smoke and prolong the whole affair, making it even harder. (Just rip off that band-aid, don't play with it.)

    Two things kept me going;

    1. At the end I smoked cigarettes only because I had to. I enjoyed only a few of them every day, so why smoke?

    2. The more physically active I became, the less I wanted to smoke.

If you want to quit, you can and will do it. (Easy for me to say now. )

There's always a romp in the hay with your hubby to take you mind off things.

Good idea, especially for a 3 1/2 pack a day chain smoker like I was when I quit.

Now there is some thinking outside the box.

That is a very good idea. Good luck with it. I'm about to try again myself, the longest I have gone is seven weeks.

Cool, I've been wanting to try nested/nesting quotes.

Excuse me pachinko-master if I'm still a little confused. Are we talking about the hay or the turkey? (Or both ... turkey in the straw ... ) Surely not the penile transplant?

I figure even today after quitting nearly 20 years ago, that I can't have a cigarette. Just too tempting and addicting. One is too many after you stop.

Slotter, it has been my experience that just one puff was all it took to get me smoking again after I quit (3 times).
