Default Buying 1st Pachislo - couple of n00b questions - King Camel :)

Hi all, I currently have a small collection of UK Fruit Machines, and am looking to get at least one Pachislo. One I'm seriously considering is a Sammy - King Camel, but I have a couple of questions before I splash out on one :

    1) Is there a simple way to convert the machines from Tokens to Coins (UK coins, ideally something high value - such as £1 coin)?

    2) I've heard volume can be a problem - Does it come with a good volume control? If not, what is the simplest way of adding one?

    3) What kind of bulbs do they take? I've a stack of 5mm 12V 1.2W Wedge Lamps I use for my fruit machines, so I've got fingers crossed that they fit

Thanks in advance for your help everyone, I'm looking forward to ordering one of these

hi answer as much as i can
first one pachi talk dosent condone changing pachis over to coins from tokens in the uk the closest you would get is to a 10p as the coin mec is so difrent to uk fruit machines you wouldent belive it
number 2 volume is realy easy on most machines it can done with a simple potntiomiter/variable resistor do a serch on volume controle in the home page all the answers there
number three bulbs vairy from machine to machine some are led some are led and push in bulbs like you are used to
Hope that helped there is a thread somewhere that will show you how to convert to quarters and a 10p is halfway between a quarter and a token that the machine is designed to take
My rice krispies told me to do it

    Cheers for your reply

I see theres some legal problems with converting these machines to take coinage, and reading some other posts on the matter, I guess I'll be sticking to Tokens. I'll have to come up with a good homemade changing machine (probably a box and a notepad ) and just 'buy' and 'cash in' tokens as necessary.

I'd give my right arm for a fruit machine (well not quite) but they are hard to come by in Canada.

You won't be disappointed with King Camel. You can modify the sound as specified here: http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/show...g+camel+volume
a 47 Ohm or 50 Ohm 10 watt ceramic resistor would be fine for the woofer though I went for the variable potentiometers all around (you need to control the volume for the woofer (single) and the tweeters (stereo) really kick in on character voices and bonus rounds).

There are three types of bulbs in the King Camel (that I can see), 28volt 3 watt (or 24 volt 3 watt) T-10s (#400?)socket type for the main door Bonus round lights, 12volt T-5 socket type (#85?) for the reel lights http://www.pachislo.com/pachislo/par...ail/bulbs.html , and (?) flouresecent for the door reel glass http://www.planethollyweb.com/html/parts.html

    Hope this helps a bit.
