Default Feeding the hopper on a pachinko

After building a hopper for one of my machines I was having trouble with the balls getting caught up in the PVC tube that fed the machines hopper. After a lot of time and experiment I have found that the best way to feed the hopper is to have the tube be larger than the hole in your hopper.

This would mean you would have to attach it from underneath. I used hot glue. With the tube being larger than the hole, this prevents the weight of the balls from being entirely on the full diameter of the tube.

    Works for me!

Thats a large hole arby. And with that size hole, you would need a whole lot of balls to jam it.

The 1 1/2 PVC found in home cheapo , I would drill a 1 1/4 hole and attach the 1 1/2 PVC (1 3/8 ID) from the bottom as I described above.

Or use a 1 1/2 hole and hot glue a paper tube from a toilet paper roll under it.

Thanks, Chaz! Good advice. Plus, those paper tubes are not too expensive.

I'm going to build a hopper for the top of the machine and need a bit of help to understand how to construct this.

Where do I build the hole from my homemade hopper to feed it into the machine's plastic reward hopper? I was thinking that the balls would drop from my hopper down into the uphill part of the plastic hopper then roll down hill to the chute.
I was then wondering about the amount of clearance between my drain tube and the lower hopper. Should I leave enough clearance for the balls to fall on one layer of balls in the lower tray?
Hope this makes sense as its a bit hard to describe. Any advise about how to feed the machines reward hopper from my homemade hopper would be appreciated.

    hi buddy try here
    http://www.gneissskateboards.com/Pachinko_Page.html
for an idea as for how far off the tray the more balls the system holds the better but dont foget to put a gate on the bottom of the hole or you will have balls every where when you open the machine

Thanks. I'm using a paper tube right now and it works perfectly.

I'm very happy with the hopper I built as it holds more than enough to last a Bonus (FEVER). Pachinko with a hopper is way more fun than cyclic, for me anyway.

By paper roll - do we mean a kitchen towel roll?
    1) How do I secure the roll - glue?
    2) How much clearance do I leave between the bottom of the roll and the floor of the hopper below.
    3) Do I feed the real hopper at the end with the hole for the balls to flow into the machine or at the other (uphill) end.

    Thanks in advance.

your best bet is feed the main hopper from the middle and as for the clearence dont forget you got to leave enough clearance to open the machine out of the stand without catching the feed tube or you will trash it every time you open the machine out of the cabinet

See, I was thinking that if I left a couple of cm's space between the bottom of the tube and the hopper tray then the balls would just keep spilling out until the top tray emptied - I take it that this doesn't happen for some reason.
I've decided to go with raising my Pachinko up a few inches and fitting an extra hopper between the bottom lost ball tube and my ball lifter. I didn't think about the door opening aspect - so thanks for the advice.

I used hot glue to secure the paper tube (toilet paper) to the wooden hopper I made. I left a gap about 1/2 ball thickness between the bottom of the tube and the machines hopper wall top. I'm dropping them in about an inch away from the highest point of the machines hopper.
