    Default "Oldies" but goodies.

This is a spin-off from another thread: Currently, the Harley Davidson machine is a huge hit and is commanding some truly high prices. Spin Luck is still popular, although I gather now that it's been out for a while the price is dropping a lot.

What are some machines that used to be really popular when they first came out, and now have dropped to normal prices simply because they've been around for a while? "Classics" as it were.

Neo Magic Pulsar and Neo Planet are a lot less then they were going for when they came out. Almost all video models come out high at first then drop.

The HD has always been pricy, it's not just current.

The one's that might fall into this category would be:

    Race Queen
    Las Vegas
    Twist
    Exhaust
    Blackjack

Classics not generally dropping in price:

    Dragon Dice
    Hot Rod Queen
    Spin Luck
    Terminator

Beast Sapp was noted to be the best of the 3 15" screens on release at one time.
The others (Monkey Magic and Hanabi Hyakkei) were always lower in price. Sapp remained high priced for quite a while, but seems to have leveled off near the others. Since I owned the other two for comparison, I believe Sapp is a better machine for me.

Since then, Sinbad has also become available... which probably helped the price on Sapp, too.

Seeing that happening with Sapp (and paying more than I should have for a mere scratch and dent), I'm waiting for the same thing to happen with Popeye.

And in the other direction, I'd have to say King Camel is going up in price (except for Milt's great weekly specials) due to it's great game play. Just makes you wonder though- How much does the discussions on Pachitalk influence the price that the dealers charge. Personally I have a feeling that pachitalk does influence the prices more than we would like!

    Let's hear your thoughts!!!

The K1 Punch Rush and the Fire Express are both top notch quality machines, built from head to toe out of the finest materials and quality of workmanship. The game play is supurb in both lighting quality and depth and dimension of play. Literally hundreds of hours can be played before you see the same thing twice. These are two primo machines.

The Harley Davidson and Spin Luck from IGT conversly suck holes in the floor for both quality and playability.

Wow, these boards are a godsend. I managed to pick up K1 Punch Rush and Fire Express for a song! I never would have known they were such great machines if it hadn't been for this board.

    Yay!

K1, K1 is a godsend? Good thing you didn't buy one of those crappy Harleys or Spin Lucks!

My Gold X is a great machine too, the reels always stop on differnet symbols and the LCD has many great videos

Don don king was pricey for awhile and then dropped to a fairly inexpensive machine. Still is one of my favorite light shows.
    and a few others.

Look at million god in museum for gold x, same machine.

Chaz70, you can never judge a book by it's cover, monkey magic has a lot of great gameplay along with th monkey magic song and the 15 inch lcd is great.

Just use "god" as your search term to find Luckydog's review.

I understand your love for the K1, Tulsa. But don't tell me you own a Fire Express too!
Check my member page here or...

Temporarily, go to youtube.com and search for BudgeRahe for videos. Until I get the links set up in the museum

I know, it doe look quite silly. But once I got over that, the machine itself is a lot of fun.

Interesting post! Just a word to new Pachi enthusiasts. Bottom line is that all points of view are subjective!! Consider the Fire Express machine. It is absolutely gorgous as far as looks, one of the prettiest, but I found it to be very boring as far as game play. IMO sound was very thin and tinny and I just didn't enjoy it much. So, I would say that all of these great machines have something that could appeal to anyone. Enjoy!!
