Don't need an extra key when a hammer and screwdriver will do.

Just FYI. My DDK and Giga fever both have those "security" keys with cutouts in them but are not alike at all and don't interchange. Pretty coincidental that your keys do interchange.

Very strange indeed, Don. And the key I have for another Don Don King doesn't fit; just the key for the Giga Fever fits.

(Below is the key for the Don Don King. And IT fits our Arra King!! Go figure.)

Well, I doubt if it's like cars where about every 10,000 cars will supposedly have keys that match. (I THINK I read that ) Chances are these keys aren't all that random.

But I thought these keys were made to be interchangeable, like blanks, where one would fit all of the same manufacturer, like Gakus are done. I guess it depends upon where you buy the machines.

They might all fit the lock (mine fit both locks just fine) , but the holes drilled into the key itself to set the tumblers would be different, I'd think.

I meant fit the lock in the sense that they'd open the lock, not just go into the lock. I thought all the pins in the tumblers had been removed, so that basically any key that would go in would work. But obviously I was wrong. Again, it depends on the seller and how he preps the machines.

I always lift up on the bottom of the door and turn key gently when opening any machines.

i have never had one broken key doing this.

locks are changed like underware by the parlors and most wont send the machine with their lock on the machine for fear of someone getting a key to their parlors machines .so the chances you have the original lock arent very good .the best way to get another key is to buy a lock set from a vendor or send them the lock as above . but most just pull the pins so any blank that fits the lock will work to open the machine cheaper for the vendor that way....

Is there a trick to pulling the pins? Does it take any special tools?

Thanks. I'll definitely check it out. Below is a photo of the Giga Fever door key that works on the Don Don King, and a key the seller just sent me, based on the photo I sent them, that, unfortunately, doesn't work. Apparently, the slightly different sizes of the holes makes a big difference. But the key definitely fits into the lock, it just doesn't turn. So if I can remove the pins that would solve the problem.

im sorry when i posted that i didnt realise you had a spare key that you could use to work the lock with if you took the pins out
in theory yes as you only need to turn the lock with the pins removed and if all else fails you needed to buy a new lock so you have lost nothing i suppose and gained aloy if it dose work
