Volume Control on Bruce Lee Takao

Does anyone know where the volume control is on the Bruce Lee (Takao) machines? It's been so long since I used it (gave it as a gift) that I can't remember how to turn it down.

I see two "buttons" next to the On/Off switch, but neither of them seems to turn the volume down.

There is a three position switch on the upper left hand side (when looking at it from the backside) just under the top part where you load the balls for payout, you have to turn it side ways to see it. Hope this helps.

Those two buttons are only a gimmick and used during gameplay.

Whilst talking about Bruce lee, anybody want to explain to me what the heck is going on??? I have started playing it but the bit about chasing a cat lost me completely! So if any of you could give me a clue please! This machine looks so good but I am at a loss on the game play.
