Bluetooth is a wireless technology. If it's bluetooth compatible it can have a wireless ear piece or a computer like the MAC can have bluetooth and then the phone could connect to the computer for d/l whatever you might be able to with that particular model.

    Bluetooth is a wireless technology.

You can for instance buy a "bluetooth" headset and have no wires. Some cars come bluetooth equipped and allow you to connect your Razr to the stereo system wirelessly.

Uniden even has a home phone you can hook up wirelessly via bluetooth to you cell phone to save minutes.

You can also hook it up to a computer via bluetooth so you can add phone numbers and addresses etc...

    Yes they do!

Suffice it to say that bluetooth is pretty slick stuff. I have a wireless earpiece for my Blackberry and it's a joy to use.

Thanks guys. He really wants to download music to the phone...we just have to figure out how to do that. The manual is rather vague....so we're off to do some searching on the net. Yes, great minds must think alike!!!

The *DOH* was from me trying to imitate the other guys. Believe me, I have gaping holes in my techno-knowledge.

We call em Bileberries in the office as they make us all sick!

Seriously, A Blackberry is just like a mobile phone but you can send and receive your office emails on them too. Our Service Managers all have them and they compete with each other to prove that they are so keen and dedicated that they are prepared to respond to each other at stupid-o-clock in the morning via these things!

Ive been told that Im going to be supporting around 1000 of these from the New Year. Deep joy. Not.

One other thing dattia is that Bluetooth has a relatively short distance of operation. Maybe 30ft or so.

The Razr is not really setup for music. The newer version called the Rokr is.
The Rokr is a combo IPOD and Cell phone.

Its blue tooth capability is only suitable for a wireless headset. Unlike other phones this one does not have any other option for a headset. Other phones could use the 9.95 ear buds... this phone needs the $99-149 bluetooth headset.

You can download wav files (sort of music) to the phone using a USB cable and software worth $49.00 called mobile tools. Unfortunately you can only use the music for ring tones. You also have to convert from MP3 to WAV format. The length of the tune can only be about 10seconds. So you will want to use a wav editor to snip out the portion of the song you want. Mobile tools is also a handy way to move pictures to / from the phone. The best part of the software is the ability to populate the address book. Still don't think you should have to spend 50 bucks for software that should come with it.

My previous phone was a T720 (also sold as T710 and T730) depending on CDMA or GSM and Tri or Quad band. It was not nearly as flat as the Razor not did it have a camera but the Razr is no better a phone and in some cases a bit poorer because it has the integrated antenna and occasionally drops calls when the signal gets weak on the back roads.

I am now on my third Razor. One went dead just carrying it in my pocket. Looked like a key board error. All buttons other than the OFF button activated the voice notes, until the memory filled up. The replacement phone was DOA (screen did not work). My replacement to the replacement died this time it was dead/dead. I think the charging circuit crapped out. My third has been good for about 4 weeks.

Don't get me wrong. I think Motorola makes a great product - ease of use, well layed out (compared to LG, Audio vox etc). I love the form factor of the unit but the razr seems like it needs some work. Ie could use a regular headphone jack, camera should have video capability (the new blue/red/blackl ones seem too) but there does not seem to be a way to upgrade the firmware.

    Little factoid..

Bluetooth gets its name froma an old Danish king circa 1000ad who unified Denmark and Norway.

Modern day bluetooth technology has unified the world of computers and telecommunication.
