Problem with Robocop and Pink Panther

One post two problems -

Two of the machines I got from Scott last week are having problems. So I figure I'd see if anyone here knows what I might try to get them going.

Robocop - game plays fine except it has no sound

Pink Panther - worked fine last week, tried it today and when I plugged it in the screen displays "Please Wait", I let it sit for about 20 minutes and there was no change to the display.

Any ideas?

you try a hard reset on them ?
hold the reset button in and turn on hold in 9 sec than release.

first one look for a loose connector on the amp-la-fire board
the second one could be a under size transformer

OK now the next question. How do I do a hard reset on them. These are the first modern machines I've gotten so I haven't figured out where all the bells and whistles are.
Scott said the Robocop has a switch on the upper left to control the sound, but I haven't found that one either.
They have 5 amp Slot USA transformers in them.

On robocop from memory I think the switch is (when facing from the back) on the right hand side, it is a 3 way switch and is not a bad volume control. I think it is about 8inches from the bottom. metal body with black floating switch on it. Happy hunting!

I don't know about the panther problem,sounds very odd.



To find the hard reset button it is a small pcb mounted rubber dot button normally near the mains on/off switch. Then do as Arby says.

The other easy thing to try is to unplug, examine, and replug the connector cables...sometimes one is a bit loose and heat/balls/motion can make it not connect properly. Good luck!

Fixed the pink panther on of the small connectors was just sliightly unseated.
Pushed it in and every thing is back to normal. Still working on Robocop

Yay! 1 down, 1 to go. Not sure on Robocop, but if you can follow the wires from the speakers you may get a surprise. One of the things I love about Pachinko is that they're (usually) fixable! Good luck.

jwegger, did you ever locate the reset button on RoboCop? I have no reason to do a reset on mine but I am curious about the location of the reset button. Haven't seen it yet, have you?

Have not located the reset button, yet but I also have not spent alot of time looking for it. The work bench has a vintage machine on it that I'm finishing up a restoration on, should be done tomorrow or the next day then I should have some time to open up the Robocop and figure out where everything is.
