I'm thinking of the dustgate with an actuator wire coming out the side or back of the cabinet. A wooden one would be easy to craft... the metal off the shelf one would be even easier

Every time I look at Bilko44's pictures I am truly amazed..........

This is how I handled doing mine with one machine.... I am able to get over 4000 balls into it. The door opens fine. Just like syph mentioned, less than a ball width and you are fine. To open the door, just pull the dump lever first to empty the balls.............

I just built a hopper on to one of my cabinets that should hold about 3500 balls up top. The object was to build something to at least last a bonus round. It seems to work well, but right now I only own about 2000 total balls. I was able to play a bonus round till about round 12 before I had to start refilling the hopper.

I ordered another 1000 balls from pachislo.com. $63 shipped, not too bad I think.

You can always go cyclic and then only need about 25 balls total.
Cyclic is better for normal play but when you hit a FEVER/BONUS I kinda like all the balls paying out.

I have a wal mounted gameroom cabinet like slotter and others. I did use a pvc that I screwd in on the top hole going down from the funnel( supplied) to the hopper. It is about half an inch from the hopper so there is no problem opening and closing, however, I do get the balls stick stuck inside the pvc due to ball mounting pressure. I just squeeze a pencil through the funnel until balls are released. I cant think of anything better right now. wonder if that 2 inch metal door on the website above will work to stop balls with this cabinet or will the funnel not allow for such connection. For the time being, I think the cabinets are the best thing out there in my opinion.

Thanks for the pics, Chaz. Looks great!

BTW, after looking at the picture, it makes one think that a planter pot with a hole in it could even be used to hold the extra balls on top.

That is EXACTLY what I said to myself after I made it. :-)

Edit: Just thought I should note that the inside of that box has ramps and is ground so that the balls are guided
to a PVC pipe. Its not just a rectangle box.

My son had an idea to "decorate" the hopper.

Now I just need more pachinko balls!!!

Like Slotter and others, I got a cabinet from Gameroom cabinets. I also had the problem with the gap between the ball funnel and the top of the machine inside the cabinet causing balls to fall out the front. Gameroon also suggested PVC, but I accomplished the fix by cutting an empty toilet paper tube in half and attaching it to the ball funnel with 2 thumbtacks. So far, so good!

I had the "balls escaping out the gap" problem between the cabinet and the machine top, but solved it with a strip of black foam rubber pushed in along the gap.

    Slotter,

How many balls does that hopper on top of the gameroom cabinets thing hold?

Thats preety funny furnace. I was going to mention that this morning, but you go to it first. That is exactly what I have done to eliminate ball spills and I am able to place low enough into the ball holder that if Zi do need to open the door, the toilet paper holder is flexible enough to just slide out. no damage. I did put three small screws to hold it firmly. This also eliminates the balls getting stuck inside the pvc. it does not happen with the paper tube.

Chaz, actually, the funnel on top is just used to direct the balls to the Pachinko feed tray. The balls don't pile up in the funnel normally. (There have been modifications made with pvc tubing, etc., that do allow it to hold additional balls.)

Thanks Slotter. When I made my "planter" looking hopper I used PVC to stop over flow from the machines hopper. I figure it can hold close to 3000 balls. (Still waiting to get more balls.) I had to make the pvc go a little into the machines hopper to prevent balls from spilling out. Its not a problem though, The whole top of the cabinet can be removed by undoing 4 screws and removing the hopper, should I ever need to open the machine.

I made my Star Wars Cyclic and its still paying out also in fever mode , so I think making a Pachinko Cyclic doesn`t affect the payout pocket
I love the Cyclic version and will make my new Pachinko`s the same

I thought when you made a machine cyclic, you pull whatever wires handle payouts so that it doesn't go crazy. I've never done it though, but I thought I read that somewhere. Course, you need a counter after that, so you know brag about how many imaginary balls you won...

Syph, have you thought of a rubber stopper that is hung from a chain up through the pipe? I cut the extra rubber off of a toilet tank stopper since it's slightly rounded. I attached the chain through the middle of the stopper, concave down, and fished it up my PVC pipe. When I want to open my case I pull the chain up and it forces the excess balls back up into the pipe/hopper. When in play the stopper rests on the bottom of the payout tray and let's the balls flow pretty much naturally.
