Only 91 that's cool for Vegas in July, when I used to live there we would go downtown and the Thermometer at the top of the Mint would read 99 at midnight.

Mike is still around(he is busy up with real life opportunies like me at the moment).

He emailed me the other day and says he is still going to this convention.

The question I have is : How many Pachinko vendors will be there? Seems like a great opportunity for sellers.

Hi, everyone! Been gone for a bit taking care of my wife. She had surgery on both wrists to fix Carpal Tunnel problems. Never knew being a nurse was so tough She's home from work for another six weeks. Fortunately, and surprisingly, after six weeks together at home we're still pals

I made our hotel reservations for the pinball show earlier this week. You can do it on-line now: http://www.plazahotelcasino.com/

Hope to see a bunch of Pachifolks there!

Good to see you again, Mike. I was starting to think the worse after the floods up your side of the state.

Thanks for the welcome back Tulsa and rupan. It's nice to be chatting with everyone again. rupan, not much of a chance of flooding here. While we're very close to the American River, our house is on the north side of the river so we're about 155' above the river. If we get flooded out, Noah will be floating by.

Hi Thomas. Yep, my wife will be ready for Las Vegas. She starts therapy in two weeks to build up strength and flexibility in her hands. She's got to get ready for the pinball machines and slots!

Do you still plan to go? If you are going, remember to buy the three day ticket package in advance to save some cash.

Depending on how much interest you have in pinball machines, you might want to visit Tim Arnold's Pinball Hall of Fame which has finally opened in Las Vegas. http://members.cox.net/sparky-dog6/PBHoF.htm

    Hope to meet you there.

Still planning on it Mike. Have not made reservations as of yet... Trying to get "Comped" at Harrahs' as I usually spend quite a bit of time there when in town. Will keep ya posted.
Thanks for the "Hall Of Fame" tip, I had no idea

Yep because of the concert at The Cannery the weekend before and the added attraction of the Pinball Museum and all the other sides shows ;-) It looks like I will be in Las Vega the week before also.

Anyone looking to party it up or even have a mini pachi convention speak up now as we could probably get the space to do it if we reserve now.

Here's some more info on the show, posted March 7th on the rgp forum by show organizer Herb Silvers:

    Hey guys-
Just to let you know Tim Arnold (He helps with the show) and I talk a
few weeks ago and are setting up tours to The Pinball Hall Of Fame on
Tropicana. People who have tickets to the show can board a tram on
friday or saturday and get a ride to the Hall Of Fame. The bus will
leave the hotel every hour or so.
If you think a factory tour is fun wait till you try this.
More one thing to keep you busy in Vegas.

Do you know if cameras (both video and still) are allowed for the show and museum?

Lew, to answer your question about the use of cameras at pinball shows, there's never been any restrictions on taking still or video pictures at the shows I've attended. Most owners displaying their pinball machines would take it as a huge compliment if anyone wanted to get a picture of one of their "babies" in action. As for the pinball museum, I don't think Tim Arnold who masterminded the museum and owns, I believe, all the machines, would mind pictures taken inside the museum. More publicity for the museum and pinball machines. Tim didn't set up the museum to make money, he's all about promoting the hobby of pinball machines. The profits beyond those needed to maintain the museum and the machines go directly to the Salvation Army. Here's a link I just discovered that explains about the Pinball Hall of Fame, and some of Tim's background. There are also many pictures of the pinball machines available for play:

    http://www.pinballmuseum.org/

Many show attendees have pinball machines at home in various stages of restoration. They often take pictures of machines at the shows to assist them in restoring playfields. Plus pictures of the artwork on the backglasses and playfields, particularly from the older machines from the 50's and 60's, make nice additions to gameroom walls when enlarged and framed.
About four months to go until round the clock pinball and whatever else there is to do in Las Vegas

You know it funny, I go to vegas at least 2 times a year and have never heard of the Pinball musuem. Now I can't wait to go. Pinball was at least half of my youth and I'll be spending at least a couple of afternoons there. I can't remember the last time I played pinball with a 5 ball round.

    Thanks for the link

    Cheers,
    James
